Haryana is at the forefront
According to the data of financial year 2024-24, Haryana has been at the forefront in the matter of tax collection. According to the report, 73.23 percent of Haryana’s total income came from its own taxes. It clearly means that Haryana is raising a major part of its earnings on its own.

Bihar is last
If we talk about Bihar, it is lagging behind in the matter of tax collection. Only 24.50 percent of the state’s total income came from its own taxes, due to which Bihar has to rely on financial assistance from the central government.
Earlier this state was at the forefront
Maharashtra was at the forefront in terms of tax from the financial year 2017 to 2020. But after 2020-21, now Haryana has left Maharashtra behind. The special thing is that from then till now Haryana is at the first position.
