Iran War LPG Crisis: After the ceasefire in Iran, the question in everyone’s mind is whether the headache on LPG, PNG, petrol and diesel will end now. That is, will the public now start getting LPG gas cylinders as easily as before? A latest statement has come out from the Government of India regarding this. Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has said that the government is selling about one lakh cylinders daily.
The ministry said in a press conference, “LPG distributors and petrol pumps have sufficient stock and there is no report of any shortage.” Whereas the supply of domestic LPG remains normal, in which 98% of the bookings are being done online. The ministry said that the supply of commercial LPG gas has been restored to 70 percent. Since March 14, approximately 1 lakh 6 thousand tonnes of LPG has been sold and 6 thousand to 6 thousand 500 tonnes are being sold every day.
LPG distributors and petrol pumps have sufficient stock with no reported shortages. Domestic LPG supply remains normal with 98% online bookings, while commercial LPG is 70% restored, with around 1,06,000 tonnes sold since 14 March and 6,000 to 6,500 tonnes sold daily.

Update on 5 kg LPG cylinder
Not only this, the government also gave a big update regarding the five kg LPG cylinder. The ministry said that the support measures include doubling the supply of five kg cylinders without ID. About 1 lakh cylinders are being sold every day and a total of 11 lakh cylinders have been sold since March 23.
Emphasis on shifting people to PNG
The ministry said that more than 2400 awareness camps have been organized across the country to create awareness among the people. The ministry said that in the case of natural gas, domestic use is being given priority. The supply to industries has been restored to about 80% and the supply to the fertilizer sector has reached 95%. Apart from this, efforts are also being made to shift LPG gas users to PNG.
