The controversy regarding Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal’s film ‘Hera Pheri 3’ is not stopping. First director Priyadarshan announced his separation from the film and now he has made serious allegations against producer Firoz Nadiadwala. Priyadarshan says that Firoz insulted him many times and even asked Akshay Kumar not to make ‘Hera Pheri 3’ with him.
Firoz Nadiadwala insulted Priyadarshan
In an interview given to Mid-Day, Priyadarshan said that Firoz Nadiadwala said many derogatory things about his work. He claimed, ‘Feroze had told Akshay that you have the rights to make ‘Hera Pheri 3’, but never make it with Priyadarshan. He insulted me many times. He told me that my cut of ‘Hera Pheri’ (2000) looked like a poor man’s version and he had to edit my five-hour film.
What did Priyadarshan say about ‘Hera Pheri 3’?
Priyadarshan told that initially he had agreed to direct ‘Hera Pheri 3’ because he had full faith in this franchise. He believed that if the film was made with the original star cast, it could have been turned into the biggest franchise of Indian cinema.

I could have made it bigger than ‘Dhurandhar’…
He said, ‘I thought that I could make it one of the biggest franchises in the country. If I had directed this film, I could have made it even bigger than ‘Dhurandhar’. Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal all three had requested me to make ‘Hera Pheri 3’. When I told them the story, they were all very excited.
I don’t think ‘Hera Pheri 3’ will be released easily…
Let us tell you that last month Priyadarshan had announced that he is no longer a part of ‘Hera Pheri 3’. He had said that the film is embroiled in many legal disputes and he does not think that it will be released soon. In an interview given to Hindustan Times, he had said, ‘There are many legal issues and disputes related to the film. In such a situation, I do not think that ‘Hera Pheri 3’ will be released easily.
What is the whole controversy?
In fact, earlier this year the matter regarding the rights of the film had reached the court. A South production company claimed that the rights of ‘Hera Pheri’ franchise are not with Firoz Nadiadwala. The company alleges that they were given the rights only to remake the Malayalam film ‘Ramji Rao Speaking’, but later its sequels were made without permission and the rights were transferred to a third party.
Paresh Rawal stepped away from the film
Meanwhile, the film got embroiled in another controversy when actor Paresh Rawal suddenly left the project. After this, Akshay Kumar’s production house had claimed Rs 25 crore against him. However, Paresh Rawal later said that the matter was resolved with mutual consent between both the parties.
Fans waiting for ‘Heri Pheri 3’
Currently, ‘Hera Pheri 3’ is surrounded by many controversies and legal matters. In such a situation, no clear information has been revealed yet regarding when the film will start and when it will be released. However, fans are still hoping that the trio of Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal will once again be seen together on the big screen.
