The Indian cricket team will go to Japan after about two months, where it will compete for the gold medal in the Asian Games. The Asian Games will be played from 19 September to 4 October, for which the cricket schedule has been revealed, but the fans will be eagerly waiting for the India and Pakistan match.
The Asian Games schedule for men’s and women’s events has been revealed, but the India-Pakistan clash is not certain. Both neighboring countries can compete in the Asian Games only in one stage. Actually, the women’s event will start with the quarterfinal matches, whereas in the men’s tournament, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are the top-seeded teams and all four have got direct entry into the quarterfinals.
When will the India-Pakistan match take place?
Talking about the men’s schedule in the Asian Games, India and Pakistan can come face to face only in the semi-finals. If both the teams win their respective semi-final matches, then they may face each other in the first semi-final match to be held on October 1.
On the other hand, if we look at the schedule of the women’s tournament, India and Pakistan have been placed in the quarterfinal bracket in such a way that they cannot face each other before the final. India and Pakistan women’s cricket teams can face each other in the gold medal match on September 22 after winning their respective quarterfinal and then semi-final matches.
How many gold medals in India’s name?
Cricket was first included in the Asian Games in 2010. India did not participate in the cricket event in the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games, while cricket was not included in the 2018 Asian Games. The Indian team had won the gold medal in both the men’s and women’s tournaments in the 2022 Asian Games. India has so far won two medals in the Asian Games and both are gold.
