After the recent conflict with America and Israel, Iran now seems to be trying to convey the message of its diplomatic reach and domestic solidarity to the world. Tehran is presenting the presence of representatives of about 100 countries including India and a crowd of millions of people in the last journey of former Supreme Leader Seyyed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a demonstration of its strength and global support.
Last journey of seven days started from Tehran
On July 3, the mortal remains of Ali Khamenei were brought among the common people for the first time since his death about four months ago. With this his last journey of seven days started. This journey will cover about 3,000 kilometers through five cities of Iran and Iraq and will end in Mashhad city of Iran, where he will be laid to rest.

Presence of 100 countries including India
According to Iran, representatives of 100 countries are participating in the last journey. From the Indian side, Bihar Governor (retired Lieutenant General) Syed Ata Hasnain and Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita have arrived to attend the funeral.
Apart from this, representatives of Palestine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, Russia, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Bulgaria and Kurdistan region have also reached Tehran. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress He Wei and Bangladesh Parliament Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed have also been informed about their participation.
Claim of gathering of more than 2 crore people
It has been claimed by Tehran that more than 2 crore people will participate in the last journey. At the same time, Ayatollah Mohammad Saeedi, the Imam of Friday prayers in Qom city, said that this last journey will prove to be like ‘another referendum’ for Iran, which will give the message of the country’s unity to the world.
Message of unity after the war
Iranian officials and supporters say that the crowd gathered at the funeral procession shows that despite the recent war, the people of the country stand firmly with their leadership and system. Iran is presenting the people gathered on the streets as a tribute to martyrdom and a symbol of national unity.

What happened?
According to Iran, Ali Khamenei, several members of his family and several senior officials were killed in a joint attack by America and Israel on February 28. After this, due to security reasons, his last rites were not performed immediately and now the last rites are being taken out after four months.
