Pakistan is very happy about the ceasefire between America and Iran because US President Donald Trump has named Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in his post. Pakistan is taking credit for the ceasefire, but meanwhile a video of senior Pakistani journalist and political analyst Najam Sethi is going viral. In the video, he is clearly saying that whatever America is doing, Pakistan will have to pay the price for it.
Najam Sethi also said that America had embraced Ayub Khan, Zia ul Haq and Pervez Musharraf in the same way as Trump is giving importance to Asim Munir. Najam Sethi had made this comment during Asim Munir’s lunch with Trump in July last year.
Najam Sethi had said on this, ‘There is no free lunch, especially with America. There is no free lunch in American culture. It always means – you are my debtor, I am repaying the debt. This is your job. He said, ‘I see that happiness is being celebrated in Pakistan that good times are about to come. Like America had supported Ayub Khan, supported Zia ul Haq, supported Pervez Musharraf.
Najam Sethi said that even now talks of 2030 have started that in 2030 Pakistan will be here, it will be there and I will be here to take it all forward. He said, ‘I understand that this is the kind of environment that is being created or has already been created, but I always try to remind them of what Henry Kissinger had said. He had said – Making friendship with America is a very dangerous thing, but making enmity with America is even more dangerous or making enmity is a dangerous thing and making friendship is even more dangerous. The thing is that America’s friendship is nothing. Ayub Khan, when he was a Field Marshal in the mid-1960s, received a standing ovation in the Congress and wrote a book – Friends Not Masters.
