A day before his swearing-in as the 13th Chief Minister of Kerala, Congress leader VD Satheesan on Sunday met eminent Clemis Bava (Moran Mor Basilios Cardinal Clemis).
The Cardinal currently serves as the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church and Major Archbishop of Thiruvananthapuram.

The Congress leader said Cardinal Clemis Bawa’s words of confidence and good wishes were a ‘source of immense strength and encouragement’. With a sense of divine responsibility, I am committed to ensuring inclusive governance, respecting all communities and giving priority to the development and progress of Kerala.
Meanwhile, with the swearing-in ceremony of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) government on Monday, the final round of discussions on cabinet formation ended on Sunday. Intensive discussions continued since morning between the alliance partners and the leadership.
Congress representative and Kerala in-charge Dipa Dasmunshi confirmed that discussions are progressing. The new administration will take charge with a 21-member cabinet including the Chief Minister, which is the maximum allowed strength in the state. According to political sources, Congress is likely to get 11 ministerial posts including the post of Chief Minister.
Although a broad consensus has been reached on many Congress candidates, talks are still going on with the alliance partners regarding their ministerial posts. The names that have almost been finalized from the Congress camp include senior leader Ramesh Chennithala, who is expected to get the charge of the Home Ministry. Apart from these, state party chief Sunny Joseph, K. Muraleedharan, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, A.P. Anil Kumar, P.C. The names of Vishnunath, M. Liju, Chandy Oommen and Bindu Krishna are also included.
