The 12th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) remained inconclusive due to rain. With this, 1-1 points were distributed between both the teams.
On Monday, KKR won the toss and decided to bat at the Eden Gardens Stadium. This team got its first blow on the score of just 12. Xavier Bartlett dismissed Finn Allen (6) on the fourth ball of the second over.
Cameron Green (4) came to bat at number three. He hit a four on his first ball, but was caught out on the next ball. Bartlett had taken 2 wickets in his very first over.
From here captain Ajinkya Rahane (8 not out) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (7 not out) tried to control the Knight Riders. The team had scored 25 runs after losing 2 wickets in 3.4 overs of play, but in the meanwhile rain stopped the game.
The rain stopped at around 10.30 pm, after which half an hour the umpires talked to both the captains, after which they were seen shaking hands. Had it been a 5-over match, KKR might have suffered a loss as they had only 1.2 overs left and not many runs on the scoreboard.
1-1 point was distributed between both the teams, with which KKR has also opened its account. This team has reached 8th position with 1 point in 3 matches. KKR had to face defeat by 6 wickets at the hands of Mumbai Indians in their first match, after which Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated them by 65 runs.
