In the 15th match of IPL 2026, a big mistake was made by the on-field umpires. Kolkata Knight Riders’ explosive opener Finn Allen was out due to the mistake of the umpires, after which everyone is criticizing the poor umpiring. After the match, KKR’s middle order batsman Rovman Powell also gave a big statement on this. Powell blamed the slow pitch at Eden Gardens for KKR’s close defeat.

Batting first against Lucknow, despite a good start, they could only score 181 runs for four wickets. In this match, its opening batsman Finn Allen (09) was out controversially. The ball which took the upper edge of Allen’s bat was caught by Digvesh Rathi standing on the boundary line of deep third man. Replays showed that his toes had touched the boundary.
But on-field umpires Adrian Holdstock (South Africa) and Akshay Totre (India) did not take the help of the third umpire and declared the catch clean.
Rovman Powell, after taking the wicket of Finn Allen, said, “There are definitely other factors that should have been taken into consideration. We talked about it when he came off the field. We have seen in the IPL that umpires have been taking the help of the third umpire for even small things like this. Maybe it was a mistake on their part, but we are not going to investigate it and say that because of this we lost two points tonight.”
