Due to the conflict and tension between Iran and America in West Asia, domestic cylinder prices have once again been increased in India. The Government of India has increased the prices of domestic cylinders by Rs 29 per cylinder on Sunday (June 7, 2026), the burden of which is directly affecting the pockets of the common people of the country.
This is the second time that the government has increased the prices of domestic cylinders since the war between America and Iran started on February 28, 2026. Earlier in the month of March, the government had increased the price of domestic cylinders by Rs 60. At the same time, the opposition is criticizing the government for the increased prices of cylinders.
Congress gave the central government a recovery government agreement
Opposition parties including Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC) to Samajwadi Party (SP) are targeting the government over the economic burden on the citizens of the country due to increase in the prices of domestic cylinders. The country’s main opposition party Congress has shared a post on social media platform X regarding the increase in cylinder prices. It has been told in the post how the prices of domestic cylinders have been increased by a total of Rs 89 in three months.

At the same time, in the caption of the post, Congress has written ‘Recovery Government’ while targeting the government.
Congress President’s attack on the Central Government
At the same time, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has raised questions on the government on the increase in the prices of LPG cylinders. Kharge said in the Modi government has increased the prices of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 89 in the last 4 months. Along with this, he shared a picture in the post and wrote, ‘BJP implemented the flames of inflation, domestic budget went up in smoke due to LPG fire!’
He said that we have three questions. First question – Modi ji had made tall claims in the Parliament that due to the West Asia war, he is doing fuel diversification from 41 countries. What happened with him? Why is there still shortage of LPG in rural areas?
The flames of rising domestic LPG prices are bent on destroying the kitchens of the common people.

Our 3 questions –
1️⃣ In Parliament, Modi ji had made tall claims that due to West Asia War, he would import fuel from 41 countries. pic.twitter.com/xE7uzFFsq6

Second question – In 2025-26, 5.56 crore families got only one refill or not even one refill under the Ujjwala scheme. Of these, 3.30 crore did not take even a single cylinder refill. This was before the West Asia crisis. Is this not the result of Modi government’s loot?
Third question – Modi ji and BJP leaders used to raise noise about inflation during UPA. Is it not true that the Modi government increased the domestic LPG prices by Rs 530 in 12 years? Now why are BJP leaders not sitting on the streets with cylinders?
Another big attack on the tight household budget of crores of families: TMC
At the same time, Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress (TMC) has cornered the government on the increase in the price of LPG cylinders by sharing a post on the X platform. TMC said, ‘Further increase of Rs 29 on domestic LPG cylinder. This is the model of BJP. When global crises occur, the poor remain immersed in worries and the rich continue to flourish.
₹29 more for a domestic LPG cylinder.
This is the @BJP4India model: when global crises emerge, the poor keep worrying while the rich keep thriving.
A government that boasts of being a “Vishwaguru” cannot shield its own citizens from repeated price shocks. Instead of planning… https://t.co/CoJAozwgsG

The party said, ‘The government which claims to call itself a world leader is not able to save its own citizens from the repeated shocks of inflation. Instead of providing relief to households and planning in advance, the Narendra Modi government is continuously putting the burden on common families. This may be a minor inconvenience for the rich, but for millions of families it is another major attack on already tight household budgets.
SP gave slogan to remove BJP government from the country
People are troubled by BJP created inflation, rulers are happy!
Domestic LPG cylinder becomes costlier by Rs 29.
Earlier in March also, cylinder prices had increased by Rs 60.

SP wrote, ‘People are troubled by BJP created inflation, rulers are happy! Domestic LPG cylinder becomes costlier by Rs 29. Earlier in March also, cylinder prices had increased by Rs 60.
