LPG Price Today: Amidst the increasing tension in West Asia, government oil companies announced a huge increase in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders last Wednesday. The impact of this sudden increase in the prices of 19 kg LPG cylinder was visible on both restaurant owners and common people.

After this change in prices, the prices of 5 kg mini cylinders were increased by Rs 51, while the prices of 19 kg commercial cylinders were increased by Rs 195 to Rs 218. However, during this period the oil companies did not increase the prices of domestic cooking gas. The price of 14.2 kg cylinder was last increased by Rs 60 on March 7. The price of 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi is Rs 913.

Let us tell you that today there is no change in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic cylinder and 19 kg commercial cylinder in the country. There is no change in the price of LPG cylinders today after the fall in international crude oil prices. Today, on April 8, the price of West Texas Intermediate or US crude variant has fallen by 17 percent to near the level of $ 95 per barrel. Brent crude has also fallen by about 16 percent and reached the level of $92.

Why didn’t the price reduce?

Despite the huge fall in the prices of crude oil, no change is being seen in the prices of domestic LPG today because usually their rates are revised on the first of every month. LPG prices are based on the strength of the rupee against the dollar and the LPG prices of ‘Saudi Aramco’ in the international markets.

Amidst the increased prices of LPG, the government is giving a subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder directly to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in their bank accounts, which has brought some relief to them in the prices in many cities like Delhi.
