Since the process of formation of the new assembly has now been completed, the old assembly was dissolved. After this order, there is no need for Mamata Banerjee to resign.

Mamta Banerjee refused to resign
Mamata Banerjee also alleged that Trinamool Congress did not contest the elections against BJP, rather its fight was with the Election Commission, which worked for BJP. He had said, ‘The question of my resignation does not arise, because our defeat was not due to the public mandate but due to a conspiracy. I am not defeated, I will not go to Lok Bhavan. The mandate on about 100 seats was looted and the counting of votes was deliberately slowed down to demoralize his party.
Mamta talked about strengthening the opposition alliance
After the defeat in Bengal, Mamata Banerjee had said that now she will focus on strengthening the opposition alliance at the national level. He had said, ‘The leaders of India Alliance called me and expressed solidarity. Sonia ji and Rahul Gandhi have also talked to me. She said, ‘As long as I was on the chair, I endured a lot. Now I am a free bird, a common man. I am going to fight. I will be on the streets and fight against all atrocities.
