Chandni Vishwakarma, just 18 years old, living in the narrow streets of Bhim Nagar slum of Bhopal, has done such a wonderful job in Madhya Pradesh Board’s class 12th examination that the entire state is taking her name with pride. By securing 98.8 percent marks, Chandni has made not only her family but the entire area proud.
Big success amidst difficult circumstances
Chandni Vishwakarma stood first in the state by securing 494 marks out of 500 in commerce stream. This achievement becomes more special because he achieved this position leaving behind about 7 lakh students. Chandni made her place among the students who had good schools, coaching and all the facilities for education through hard work.
Slum life and family conditions
According to media reports, Chandni’s family is very ordinary. His father Rambhuvan works as a carpenter on daily wage basis. If you get work every day then the stove burns in the house, if you don’t get it then the problems increase further. Living in a slum means a new challenge every day. Sometimes there is water problem, sometimes lack of light, sometimes noise.

But amid all this, Chandni never compromised with her studies. When there was no place to study at home, she used to study sitting on the roadside. Many times he opened books while sitting under the street light. Sitting on the footpath, amidst mosquitoes and in dim light, he strengthened his dreams.
Free school becomes support
Chandni studied at Gurudev Gupta Education Center. This is a school which is run by a social organization and where free education is given to poor children. Had this school not been there, it would have been difficult for Chandni to pursue her studies further.

Chandni used to study for 8 to 9 hours every day. He made good use of every moment. His father’s hard work and struggle inspired him every day. She knew that education was the only path that could change the condition of her family.
Dream of becoming a chartered accountant
Chandni now wants to become a Chartered Accountant (CA). She wants to give a better life to her family by doing a good job. She says that she wants that her parents no longer have to struggle and they can live a life with dignity.
