NEET 2026 Success Story: Suraj Saini, a resident of Bundi district of Rajasthan, has proved that even financial difficulties become small in front of strong intentions. Suraj, who went from village to village painting houses to help his family, scored 583 marks in NEET UG 2026 this year. With this score he is expected to get MBBS seat in medical college. The special thing is that till class 12th he had no knowledge about NEET exam. Gradually he got information, started preparation and on the basis of continuous hard work, he completed the journey to medical college.
Didn’t know what NEET was till 12th?
Suraj has been a student of a Hindi medium government school located at Kapren in Bundi district. He scored 87 percent marks in class 10th and 85 percent marks in class 12th. Suraj says that during school his entire focus was only on scoring good marks in the board exams. He first came to know about NEET exam from his aunt, after which he applied in February 2024 and gave the exam for the first time. According to Suraj, his preparation was very limited in the first attempt, after giving the exam he felt that the question paper was easier than expected. He realized that the problem was not in the paper but in his preparation. Because of this, he again started his preparation with full seriousness.
Journey from studying at home to Kota
After the first attempt, Suraj continued his studies by staying at home. Later, he got free coaching and accommodation facility under the coaching program based in Kota. After reaching Kota, he understood the right strategy for the competitive exam. Initially he felt that other students were far ahead of him, because he had been preparing for many years. But with the guidance of teachers, they gradually strengthened their preparation. Suraj says that for NEET preparation, not only coaching is necessary, but getting the right direction is more important. According to him, teachers help in explaining what to study, how much to study and how to proceed with the preparation.

Used to paint houses along with studies
Before going to Kota, Suraj used to work on painting houses in the nearby villages during holidays and free time. He used the earnings from this to help his family financially. Suraj told that he did not learn this work from anyone, rather he learned it himself after seeing people working. Gradually this work became a source of extra income for the family. Whereas Suraj’s mother Ghisi Bai works as a laborer in the fields, due to financial constraints his younger sister Garima had to leave her studies after eighth grade and she started working in the fields with her mother. Now Suraj wants his sister to go to school again.
Now preparations for admission in government medical college
After scoring 583 marks in NEET UG 2026, Suraj’s next target is medical counselling. He is confident that on the basis of this score he will get MBBS seat in government medical college. Based on his experience, Suraj says that students who dream of becoming doctors should start preparing for NEET from 11th itself. He believes that there is no extra pressure after starting the preparation on time.
