The country’s biggest medical entrance exam NEET-UG 2026 is mired in controversies this time. A few days after the end of the examination, the news of paper leak came out, after which there was a stir in the entire country. Lakhs of students and their families raised questions on the examination system. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the investigating agencies immediately started action and till now many people have been arrested.
Big action against Pune’s physics teacher
In this case, the most discussed issue is the arrest of senior physics teacher Manisha Sanjay Havildar from Pune, Maharashtra. It is being told that she was teaching in a private school for a long time and was going to retire soon. According to the investigating agencies, he was included as an expert in the examination process. It is alleged that some questions were passed on to other people before the examination. After interrogation, he was arrested and soon after the school administration suspended him. The school has called this entire matter against the trust of the education system and has also started investigation from its side.
Network spread across many cities
According to the investigating agencies, the issue of paper leak is not limited to just one city. The accused have been arrested from cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Pune, Nashik, Latur and Ahilyanagar. Till now, a total of 11 people have been arrested. Efforts are being made in the investigation to find out how the entire network of paper leaks was working and who were the people involved in it. The officials have also seized mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices of many accused.
23 lakh students were affected
NEET-UG 2026 examination was held on May 3. This examination was conducted in 551 cities across the country and 14 centers abroad. About 23 lakh students took part in it. But after the news of paper leak came to light, concerns about the hard work and future of the students increased. As soon as complaints of irregularities in the examination were received, the matter was taken to the central agencies. After investigation, it was decided to cancel the examination on May 12. After this, it was announced to conduct the examination again.

NTA made many big announcements
After the controversy escalated, NTA has taken many relief decisions for the students. The agency has made it clear that students will not have to apply again for re-exam. Also, no additional fees will be charged from any student. NTA has also started the facility of fee refund. For this, a special portal has been created, where students can update their bank account information. Also, new admit cards will also be issued soon.
Resentment among students and parents
After the paper leak case, there is a lot of anger among the students and parents. Many students say that they had worked hard throughout the year, but due to this controversy, their mental stress has increased. Questions are being raised continuously on social media regarding the examination system. Currently, the investigating agencies are investigating the entire matter in depth. It is believed that there may be even bigger revelations in this case in the coming days.
