‘Only white children’, Ulka Gupta faced rejections because of her dark complexion, had to beg even to give auditions

Actress Ulka Gupta is known for the show ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’. In this show she played the role of Young Rani Laxmibai. Some time ago he was also seen in the film ‘The Kerala Story 2’. There was a lot of discussion about his acting in the film. The actress has worked hard to establish herself in the industry.

The actress faced a lot of rejections at a young age and she faced these rejections because of her dark complexion.

Faced rejection because of dark complexion

In an interview given to India Today, the actress told that she faced discrimination in the industry because of her colour. He said, ‘Initially, when the makers used to cast child artistes and conduct auditions, there was a note outside on which it was written ‘Only white children.’ My biggest insecurity was the one with which I had to fight. I cried a lot and got rejected. They used to say that we are casting upmarket kids. I used to beg him to please let me audition and at least introduce me.

She further said, ‘There was a time when I was not a big star but makeup artists used to apply light shade foundation on my face. I didn’t like it. I wondered if I wasn’t enough? Why do I need this to happen? I could see that mine also had a matching shade. So why do they use this light shade?

Let us tell you that Ulka Gupta made seven rounds – Saloni’s journey, Jhansi ki Rani, Zindagi plays with eye candy. She was seen in shows like Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev, Banni Chaav Home Delivery and Dhruv Tara. Now she will be seen in the film Rajni’s Baraat. The film was directed by Aditya Aman.
