The situation is so bad that people have been forced to use cooking gas by filling it in balloons.
Critical situation in some parts of Karachi
According to the report of news agency ANI, residents in some parts of Karachi are troubled due to prolonged power cuts. To find a solution to this problem, people have started storing gas in plastic balloons. Because due to its lack, everyday life was being greatly affected. Especially Mominabad area of Orangi Town seems to be greatly affected by the shortage of LPG.

What do residents say?
Here, when gas supply is available for a short period, gas is being filled in specially designed plastic balloons. Later they are being used for cooking. Talking about this, local residents said that when the gas supply was restored for some time, these balloons worth 1 thousand to 1.5 thousand PKR (Pakistani Rupee) were filled in the markets. Once filled, these are disconnected and used as a temporary storage solution throughout the day to meet household needs.
Questions are being raised regarding security
From a security point of view, this is a very unsafe method. Many people have also expressed concern about this. Storing gas in plastic balloons can be a serious risk. While talking to ANI, experts have described it as a ‘walking bomb’. He has warned people that even slight friction or coming in contact with heat can turn it into an explosive. In densely populated areas, it can also cause loss of life and property.

LPG price in Pakistan
