The prices of petrol and diesel in India are updated by government oil companies every day at 6 am. On the basis of ‘Dynamic Pricing Model’ in India, fuel prices are decided every day according to the prices of crude oil in the international market and the exchange rate of rupee against dollar.

Where is petrol and diesel cheapest?
The cheapest petrol and diesel in India is in Andaman and Nicobar (Port Blair). Here the price of petrol is Rs 88.66 and the price of diesel is Rs 84.56 per liter. The reason for low prices here is only 1% VAT collected on fuel by the state government.
At the same time, if we talk about the most expensive petrol and diesel, then in states like Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan, the price of petrol ranges from Rs 117.59 to Rs 117.78 per liter. At the same time, the price of diesel here is around Rs 105.26 to Rs 105.36 per liter. In fact, in states like Telangana and Rajasthan, heavy VAT ranging from 31% to 35.2% is charged on fuel. On top of this, road cess and additional taxes are also imposed. Due to this the prices increase significantly.
