PNG Connection: The effect of the ongoing tension in the Middle East is being seen in India also. Petrel- People are troubled by the shortage of diesel and gas cylinders. Now considering these circumstances, the government has prepared its master plan. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas itself has recently informed about this. The ministry has said that now PNG pipelines will be laid to avoid gas shortage.

Information given by the ministry
According to news agency ANI, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has ordered that a framework be prepared for laying PNG pipes. The ministry said, ‘This order is expected to accelerate the development of PNG network, improve last-mile connectivity and support the transition to clean fuels, thereby strengthening energy security and boosting India’s gas-based economy.’

Considering the current geographical situation, the government has taken several measures to reduce the impact on LPG supply. The ministry has said that, ‘No report of supply shortage has been received from LPG distributors and online LPG booking in industries has increased to about 98 percent.

Domestic LPG cylinder delivery is normal
Currently, to prevent illegal supply, Delivery Authentication Code (DCA) based deliveries have been increased to approximately 93%. In this regard, the ministry said, ‘Domestic LPG cylinder delivery remains normal. More than 52.3 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered on 11.04.2026. The government also said it has taken steps to increase commercial LPG supply, increasing the total allocation to approximately 70% of pre-crisis levels, including 10% reform-related allocation.

Workers will get 5 kg cylinder
Apart from this, the government has also said that they have doubled the supply of 5 kg FTL cylinders. Migrant laborers and students will easily get this. They will not even need any address proof for this. Rather, they will get FTL just by showing their ID.
