Pregnancy Test Kit: Pregnancy is a very special time for every woman. Every woman trusts a pregnancy kit to find out whether a woman is pregnant or not, but have you ever wondered how the pregnancy kit on which women blindly trust determines whether a woman is pregnant.
In response to this, let us tell you that when a woman becomes pregnant, a special hormone starts being produced in her body, whose name is hCG, i.e. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. This hormone usually starts being produced within 8 to 12 days of becoming a mother. As pregnancy progresses, this hormone increases in the body. This HCG hormone is used for complete testing of pregnancy kit. This hormone reaches the blood as well as the urine, and for this reason it is possible to test with urine.
What’s inside the kit?
There is a special kind of strip inside the pregnancy kit, on which small particles called antibodies are stuck. These antibodies recognize only the HCG hormone, not anything else. When urine is put on the kit, if the HCG hormone is present in the urine, it binds to the antibody. This connection starts a chemical reaction, which causes the color to change. This is the reason why only urine is used in the kit, not blood.

What do two lines mean?
In most pregnancy kits, there is a provision to show lines at two places. One line is called the control line, which indicates that the kit is working properly. The second line is the test line, which is visible only when HCG hormone is present in the urine. If both lines are visible, it means that the woman is pregnant. If only one line is visible then it means there is no pregnancy.
