Businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra recently talked about IPL team Rajasthan Royals. Raj told that he had bought the shares of this team as a Valentine’s Day gift for Shilpa Shetty.
Talking to YouTube channel SMTV, he said, ‘I had bought these shares as a Valentine’s Day gift. I thought that Shilpa has so much brand value and I invested money. Then I bought shares of IPL team Rajasthan Royals.
Raj had invested Rs 82 crore
Raj further told that when he invested in the IPL team, the valuation of the team was Rs 700 crore. Now the value of the team has become 16000 crores. Raj had invested Rs 81.9 crore in the team.

Let us tell you that in 2013, Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra was accused of illegal betting during the IPL. At that time the matter had reached the Supreme Court. In 2015, Justice Lodha Committee had banned Raj from all cricket related activities. Whereas Rajasthan Royals were banned for two seasons (2016 and 2017).
Talking about this, Raj said, ‘At that time we were accused of betting and betting was not allowed at that time. At that time the team was banned for two years. Some players were banned and so were the owners. We were banned for betting. What is betting? You and I are sitting together and say what is the bet? This was the same conversation. 500 bet? He said that he also does not have permission. We thought you were banning us for this?’
Talking about Raj and Shilpa, they got married on 22 November 2009. His marriage took place in Khandala. Both are parents of two children. They have a son and a daughter.
