Russian President Vladimir Putin has given a big statement regarding Ukraine. He said that Russia has no objection to Ukraine joining the European Union (EU). However, he made it clear that Ukraine’s joining NATO would not be acceptable to Russia. Putin said that Russia is ready for talks to end the war. He also indicated that he would have no objection to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visiting Moscow if peace talks move forward.

Putin made it clear that the Donbass region, which came under Russian control during the war, will not be handed back to Ukraine. He says that Russia is not going to change its position on this issue. Russia has long been opposed to Ukraine joining NATO. Moscow believes that NATO expansion is a threat to its security. Ukraine and Western countries have been calling NATO membership essential for Ukraine’s security.

Volodymyr Zelensky wrote a letter

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has written a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin proposing direct talks to end the war. Zelensky said that a face-to-face meeting of the two leaders is necessary to end the long-running war. Zelensky suggested that this meeting could be held in a neutral country. He has proposed Switzerland, Turkey or an Arab country as possible locations. He says that if peace talks start, Ukraine is ready for a complete ceasefire during the time of talks.
