The SHO of Lahore’s Defense C police station, along with two other police officers, who lodged an FIR against Pakistan’s Deputy PM Ishaq Dar’s relative Muhammad Raza Dar and his associates on charges of gangrape and kidnapping of foreign women for ransom, were suspended on the orders of Punjab IG.
These officers were accused of forcibly entering the house of the Judicial Magistrate of Lahore three days earlier on July 1, threatening him and pressurizing him to talk to the DIG on phone. Not only this, the SHO, who lodged the FIR against a close relative of gangrape accused Ishaq Dar, has also been taken into custody along with two other police officers.
According to sources, the order to suspend the SHO and other 2 officers and take strict action against them came directly from the office of Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province and daughter of Nawaz Sharif, after which the SHO, who had lodged an FIR against Ishaq Dar’s close relative and his other associates in a 3-day-old case, was measured along with his fellow officers.
What is the relationship between the two?
Let us tell you that Ishaq Dar is not only the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan but is also a close friend of Nawaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Asma Sharif is married to Ishaq Dar’s son Ali Dar who is a special advisor to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. According to sources, in the FIR lodged against SHO Ashraf and his associates for the incident of July 1, who lodged an FIR against Ishaq Dar’s relative, Faisal Kamran, posted on the post of DIG Operations, had sent them to Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood’s house so that DIG Operations could be discussed with the Judicial Magistrate and pressure could be put on the Judicial Magistrate in a case the next day.
SHO had taken action
However, after registering an FIR against Ishaq Dar’s close relative and other associates, SHO Fariyad Ashraf was arrested along with his associates. Lahore Police had accused Ishaq Dar’s relative Muhammad Raza Dar and 4 other people, including a person named Boss, in the gang rape and extortion case of Stephanie Adnana Maroon of Netherlands and Astrid Robinson Bracho of Venezuela.
A big accused is still free
On Friday, after the arrest of Muhammad Raza Dar along with his three other associates Sikandar Aziz Khan, Hasan Raza and Sajid Ali, they were produced in Lahore District Court, where these four accused were sent to 5-day police remand. However, the accused named “Boss” has still not been arrested nor has his identity been made public. According to sources, the police is deliberately not making public the identity of the gangrape accused with the pseudonym “Boss” nor arresting him because he is a big name in the political circles of Pakistan.
