Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the exam schedule for GD Constable Recruitment 2026. There is a relief news for lakhs of candidates. Through this examination, there will be selection for posts like constable in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, SSF and Assam Rifles. According to official information, SSC GD exam will run from 27 April 2026 to the end of May 2026. The examination will be conducted in four main phases/weeks namely 27 April-2 May, 4-9 May, 18-23 May, and 25-30 May 2026. Also, candidates can choose the exam slot of their choice by visiting the official website ssc.gov.in from 11 April to 15 April 2026.
Exam Pattern and Selection Process
The examination will be computer based (CBE) in several stages. In which there are 80 multiple choice questions (MCQs), in which the paper has a total of 160 marks and the time given is 60 minutes. After this, in the second phase, the candidates who pass CBT will have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and Medical Test.

- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 20 questions (40 marks)
- General Knowledge & Awareness: 20 questions (40 marks)
- Elementary Mathematics: 20 questions (40 marks)
- English/Hindi: 20 questions (40 marks)
- There is also negative marking in which 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Every citizen of India can give SSC GD exam, for this the candidate must have passed 10th from a recognized board. Whereas the age limit for general category is 18 to 23 years, in which OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets upper age relaxation of 5 years, under which 18 to 26 years for OBC and 18 to 28 years for SC/ST have been fixed. Apart from this, in physical standards, minimum height is required to be 170 cm for men, 157 cm for women and 80 cm chest for men.
