- There will be summer holidays in Delhi government schools from 11 May to 30 June 2026.

- Remedial classes from 7:30 am to 10:30 am, uniform will be mandatory.
Delhi Education Directorate has issued a new circular regarding summer vacation and remedial classes for government schools. According to the order, there will be summer vacations from May 11 to June 30, 2026. However, during this period, special remedial classes will be organized for the students of class 9th, 10th and 12th. Summer vacations will start in all the government schools of Delhi from May 11, 2026. According to the order issued by the Education Department, the holidays will last till June 30, 2026. During this period, regular studies will remain closed in schools, but special classes will continue for needy students.
Special order issued for these classes
The Education Department has given instructions to run remedial classes for the students of class 9th, 10th and 12th. These classes will be held from May 11 to May 23, 2026. Its objective is to strengthen the studies of the students and improve their weak subjects.
Which subjects will be the focus?
For students of class 9th and 10th, more attention will be given to science and mathematics subjects. Whereas for class 12th students, the subjects will be selected by the school principal as per the needs of the students. If necessary, other subjects can also be included.

what will be the school timings
Remedial classes will be held in the morning shift. Teachers’ timings will be from 7:20 am to 11:00 am, while students’ classes will run from 7:30 am to 10:30 am. Each period will be of one hour and a total of three periods will be imposed. It will be necessary for students coming to remedial classes to wear school uniform. Also, the attendance of the students will be recorded online. It has also been made necessary for schools to obtain consent letter i.e. NOC from parents.
The Education Department has instructed school heads to prepare the time table of remedial classes in advance. Teachers have been asked to give personal attention to students and improve their studies. If needed, help of guest and contract teachers can also be taken.
Classes will be under supervision
Delhi Education Department has instructed district and zone level officials to monitor remedial classes. Officials will have to visit schools regularly and check the arrangements so that classes can be conducted properly.
