Even 4 days after the declaration of assembly election results, suspense remains over TVK forming government in Tamil Nadu. Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), actor Vijay’s party formed two years ago, has won the maximum 108 seats, but fell short of the majority mark (118 seats). Vijay has met the Governor twice in the last two days, but Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has bluntly said that the oath will be taken only after proving majority.
Vijay sought support from these three parties
The future of TVK now depends on the decision of CPI, CPM and VCK. Vijay’s party has sought support from these three parties for government formation. CPI, CPM and VCK can announce their decision by this evening (8 May). Many leaders internally believe that TVK should be supported while respecting the mandate, but there is pressure from DMK as these parties have been part of the DMK alliance for a long time.
Governor’s statements increased the stir
Governor Vishwanath Arlekar is still present in Chennai. The Governor’s recent comments have increased the stir in Tamil Nadu politics. The Governor has said that ‘for him ‘numbers’ are most important, not just claims.’ The Governor made it clear that only that party or coalition will be called to form the government, which has the clear support of 118 MLAs. TVK and Congress have expressed displeasure over the Governor’s comments.
Discussion of DMK-AIADMK alliance
On the other hand, suddenly the discussion of DMK-AIADMK alliance has come to the political center. Now the biggest question is what decision Stalin finally takes. Yesterday (May 7), Palaniswami collected signatures of AIADMK MLAs at a resort in Puducherry. Palaniswami has sought time to meet the Governor. If VCK and Left parties do not support Vijay, then the DMK-AIADMK alliance may come into the lead.

TVK MLA may resign?
According to reports, if the DMK-AIADMK alliance forms the government, Vijay may consider getting the resignation of his 107 MLAs. TVK has called a meeting of the legislature party today (8 May) at the party office in Panayur.
