Adani Group has presented a big masterplan in the Indian Cement Sector. The proposed merger of ACC and Orient Cement with Ambuja Cements is being considered as the biggest shake-up after the UltraTech era.

ACC shareholders will get 328 shares of Ambuja for every 100 shares, Orient Cement will get 33 shares, Sanghi Industries will get 12 shares and Penna Cement shareholders will get ₹321.5 per share cash. The group wants to increase cement capacity from 107 MT to 155 MT by FY28.

The Ambuja and ACC brands will remain with separate identities. Record date has not been announced yet. The merger will be completed after SEBI, shareholders and NCLT approvals, which may take about 12 months. This can be a big game-changer for investors.

Adani Group Investment in Energy Sector: Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said on Tuesday that his group will invest more than US $ 75 billion in the energy transition sector in the next five years. He was speaking on the 100th foundation day of the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. Adani said that the group is building the world’s largest renewable energy park in Khavda, Gujarat, which is spread over 520 square kilometers.

There will be a big change in the energy sector

He said that this park will generate 30 GW of green energy at full capacity by 2030, which is equivalent to providing electricity to more than 6 crore houses for a year as per average consumption. So far, 10 GW capacity has been commissioned and the Group is moving towards providing the world’s lowest cost green power.

Adani said India is the world’s third-largest electricity consumer, but per capita consumption is still less than 1,400 kWh, which is half the global average, one-tenth that of the US and one-fifth that of Europe.

Referring to the global sustainability debate, he said that some international institutions question India’s ranking because the country has not set a deadline to exit coal. But the reality is that India’s per capita CO₂ emissions are only 2 tonnes, while America’s is 14 tonnes, China’s 9 tonnes and Europe’s 6 tonnes.

India’s contribution to carbon emissions is less

India’s contribution to total global emissions in the last 200 years has been only 4 percent, while Europe’s contribution is 13 percent, America’s 19 percent and China’s 20 percent. Adani said that India should choose the path according to its development needs and should not be influenced by external pressures.

He further said that India is the world’s third largest electricity consumer, but its per capita consumption is “less than 1,400 kilowatt hours per year, which is less than half the global average and one-tenth of the US and one-fifth of Europe.”

Referring to the global sustainability debate, Adani said this debate came to the fore at the 2025 COP-30, where India’s sustainability ‘ranking’ was downgraded in a report arguing that our country lacked a timeline for coal extraction and the auction of coal blocks was ongoing.

Guatam Adani: Andhra Pradesh has approved the transfer of 480 acres of land in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalle districts to Adani Infra (India) Private Limited. Adani Infra is a partner of Google’s company Raiden Infotech India. Together, both are running a project to build a big data center here.

The ministers of the state government have approved this after the proposal of Raiden Infotech India, the official order of which was issued on 2 December. With the availability of land, the digital infrastructure here will be strengthened in the coming time and technology investment will also get a boost.

87500 crore spent in building data center

The order issued on December 2 said, after carefully examining the proposal, the government and the Council of Ministers approved it in the meeting held on 28/11/2025. According to this, approval is given to transfer 480 acres of land in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalle districts to M/s Adani Infra India) Private Limited.

Raiden Infotech India is investing more than Rs 87,500 crore in the development of data centers across Andhra Pradesh in the first phase. In return, the company will get incentives worth Rs 22,000 crore from the state over time as part of the government’s efforts to promote digital projects.

What did Raiden demand?

According to the government order, Raiden has requested that its notified partners, including Adani Infra, be authorized to avail the incentives earlier promised by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s government for the data center project. Google’s company Raiden Infotech will build a 1 GW AI data center as the main part of this project. The company has identified several ‘Notified Partners’, which include Adani Infra, AdaniConnex India, Adani Power India, Bharti Airtel, Nextra Data and Nextra Vizag (subsidiary of Bharti Airtel).

Raiden has specifically requested that all three parcels of land identified by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (APIIC) be allotted to Adani Infra as the primary notified partner after completing the survey and handing over possession.

The government order states that the data center will be built on the same standards as those supporting Google’s core services, such as Search, YouTube and Workspace. The planned facility’s 1 GW power consumption is equivalent to Mumbai’s annual power usage.

Adani Group: Navi Mumbai International Airport has passed the Passenger Simulation Test. Now it is completely ready for flight movement from December 25. This project has been jointly built by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO), in which AAHL has 74 percent stake and CIDCO has 26 percent stake.

India’s air passenger traffic is increasing rapidly

According to the report, about 70 percent of the expansion cost to increase the capacity of airports will be done from debt funds, while the remaining amount will come from equity. India’s air passenger traffic is expected to more than double to 300 million every year by 2030 and accordingly Adani Group wants to handle about two-thirds of the demand.

This upgradation also strengthens the company’s plan to launch the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of its airports unit. Most of the upgradation will be done in the six airports that Adani took over in 2020 during the second round of India’s airport privatization. Navi Mumbai International Airport: Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is going to start operations from 25 December 2025. The company is certified by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) and EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency), which runs its simulation centers in Gurugram and Hyderabad. There is a possibility of further expansion in the coming time. Apart from this, the company also runs one of the largest flying schools in India at Bhiwani and Narnaul in Haryana.

Bhagalpur Power Project: Amidst the political controversy over the proposed power project in Bhagalpur district of Bihar, Adani Group has rejected the opposition’s allegations, calling them ‘misleading and malicious’ (Mala Fide). The group says that the state government has allotted this project through a completely transparent tender process.

Congress made allegations of bias

Senior Congress leader Pawan Kheda had recently alleged that the NDA government of Bihar gave 1,050 acres of land and lakhs of trees to the Adani Group on a nominal lease rent of just Re 1 per year for 33 years. He claimed that the agreement was approved in a hurry before the assembly elections and termed it as a ‘gift to a politically connected business house’.

Congress leaders said that this case is not just an industrial project but an example of ‘crony capitalism’, in which public assets are being handed over to private companies in the name of development.

The government called the allegations ‘misleading’

Bihar government completely rejected these allegations and said that the tender process was fair and transparent. State Industries Minister Nitish Mishra said that four companies had competed for this project. All formal processes were completed and the project was awarded to Adani Power Limited, the bidder with the lowest quotation.

On the other hand, BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar accused Congress of trying to create controversy just before the elections. He said that the government is not selling this land but is giving it on lease, which is part of the industrial policy of Bihar. This project will increase the power generation capacity of the state and create new employment opportunities.

Adani Group’s clarification

Adani Power also issued a detailed statement saying that the land in dispute has been with Bihar State Power Generation Company (BSPGCL) for the last decade. The group said it won the project by quoting the lowest electricity rate (tariff) through a transparent bidding process.

The company said that leaders of some political parties are continuously spreading wrong information about the proposed power project in Bhagalpur district. Probably they are not aware of the transparent process adopted by the Bihar government. Adani Group clarified that the Bihar government had decided to give the land on nominal lease rent to the successful bidder under the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy, 2025.

Adani Group further said that this is not a special benefit given to any one company, but it applies equally to all investors under the policy. Therefore the allegations being made are completely malicious and misleading.

Tender process and electricity rates

The company said that Adani Power bid at the rate of Rs 6.075 per unit (kWh), which includes fixed charge of Rs 4.165 and fuel charge of Rs 1.91. This rate is lower than a similar 3,200 MW project recently completed in Madhya Pradesh, which will provide cheaper electricity to consumers in Bihar.

Adani Group said that the objective of this project is to increase the energy supply and industrial capacity of Bihar. The company also told that the Bihar government had earlier tried to start this project several times through PSU companies (NTPC, NLC, SJVN), but they could not succeed.
