RSI-India 2026: A very special program was organized in India to prepare future scientists. Adani Group and the American organization Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) together organized a special science camp named ‘Research Science Initiative’. This six-week long camp was organized at the most prestigious institute of Bengaluru, the Indian Institute of Science, which concluded recently.
Learn about the program
This program is a special science research program for high school students. It was organized in India on the lines of the program held in America’s famous university ‘MIT’. This year only 32 very promising and talented students from across the country were selected for this. The special thing is that no fee was charged from the children for this six-week advanced course, it was absolutely free.
The children themselves worked in the lab
The students who participated in this camp said that it was a unique and wonderful experience for them. Students got the opportunity to work directly with top professors of IISc and understand the research in their labs. A student named Tanishq said, “It was a great experience. We not only got to learn with great professors, but also got a chance to spend time with peers who were also interested in science.”
Meanwhile, another student Shiv Mandlik told the media, “Recently I got the opportunity to participate in a six-week course of ‘Research Science Initiative in India’. I would like to sincerely thank the Adani Group for providing such a wonderful experience to high school students across the country, as not everyone gets the opportunity to participate in such a rigorous and excellent program for free.β

Need to think beyond engineering and doctors β Professor
Regarding the program, IISc professor and coordinator Deepak Saini said that most of the school children in India want to become either doctors or engineers. They get stuck in this thinking. But today India is in great need of such scientists and researchers who can make new inventions for the country.
Professor Saini said, “The best way to turn children towards science is to give them the taste of working in the lab themselves. Adani Group is fully supporting us in this work and it is only with their support that we are able to prepare scientists of the coming generation.” In this closing ceremony, the children presented their research projects in front of everyone and were also honored.
