This decision of ECB has come after England’s Test captain Ben Stokes retired from international cricket. McCullum admitted that he was disappointed at the end of his tenure as the head coach of the Test team. His statement also indicated that this decision was a result of the board’s decision rather than his voluntarily stepping down.

In a press release issued by the ECB, Brendon McCullum said, “I certainly regret not continuing with the Test team, but I respect the Board’s decision.
