Late actor Dharmendra’s last film ‘Ikkis’ is going to be released in theaters on January 1, 2026. This is a war based film with which Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda is making his Bollywood debut. Before the release of ‘Ikkis’, the runtime of the film has been revealed. The Censor Board has come under the scanner of the film, under which instructions have been given to make many important changes in it.

CBFC made these changes in ‘Ikkis’

• CBFC has asked the makers to make appropriate changes in the opening disclaimer of ‘Ikkis’. Under which we have to express our gratitude to Poona Horse Regiment, Colonel Hanuth Singh and the tank crew.
• The Censor Board had also asked to add a voice over in the disclaimer and also suggested adding pictures of warriors and a voiceover about Arun’s tank crew.
• The Censor Board has directed the makers of ‘Ikkis’ to add text along with the voiceover in the end credits of the film. Also, the complete image of the Lieutenant General should be added in the credits after taking the advice of a defense expert.
• CBFC has removed the name of a tank from the second part of ‘Ikkis’. There was a 15-second dialogue on India-Pakistan relations in the film, CBFC has suggested removing it too.
• CBFC has asked the makers to blur the name of the liquor brand in the film. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to add anti-smoking message.
• With all these cuts and changes, ‘Ikkis’ has been passed by CBFC with U/A (13+) certificate.
• According to the censor certificate, the total runtime of the film is 147.15 minutes i.e. 2 hours 27 minutes and 15 seconds.

Star cast of ‘Ikkis’
‘Ikkis’ has been directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film is based on the youngest Param Vir Chakra winner Major Arun Khetrapal. Agastya Nanda is in the lead role in this film. Dharmendra has played the role of his father. Apart from this, Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia and late actor Asrani are also a part of the film.

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh’s gangster-action film ‘Dhurandhar’ is ready for release. The film is going to hit the big screens on 5th December. Earlier, the Censor Board has passed the film by giving it ‘A’ certification. CBFC has made some cuts in ‘Dhurandhar’ and has also instructed the makers to make important changes. With a runtime of more than 3.5 hours, ‘Dhurandhar’ has also become the longest film released in the last 17 years.

According to the report of Bollywood Hungama, ‘Dhurandhar’ has received ‘A’ certificate from the Censor Board. Ranveer Singh made his debut with ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ in 2010 and in his career of 15 years, he worked in 16 films. But till date none of his films has received ‘A’ certificate. That means ‘Dhurandhar’ is the first film in the actor’s career which has got adult rating.

CBFC made important changes in ‘Dhurandhar’

• He has asked the makers to add a voiceover for the Hindi disclaimer in the film.
• The runtime of the disclaimer has also been increased to match the voiceover disclaimer.
• The censor board has imposed many cuts on ‘Dhurandhar’. The violence scenes in the beginning of the film have been changed.
• CBFC has asked to reduce the violence scenes and one abusive word at the end of the film has been muted.
• The name of the character of a minister in the film has also changed.
• It has been asked to add anti-drugs and anti-smoking static in the scenes in which characters are seen using intoxicants.

Runtime of ‘Dhurandhar’
Talking about the runtime of ‘Dhurandhar’, Ranveer Singh’s film will be 3 hours, 34 minutes and 1 second (214.01 minutes) long. With this, it will be the longest Bollywood film among all the films released in 17 years. Earlier, the film ‘Jodha Akbar’ released in 2008 was 214 minutes long.

‘Dhurandhar’ is a fictional story
In fact, Delhi High Court also directed CBFC to consider the complaints of the family before giving certificate to the film. While disposing of the petition, the court allowed CBFC to continue the entire process. In such a situation, CBFC has now made it clear that ‘Dhurandhar’ is a fictional story. The film has nothing to do with the life of Major Mohit Sharma. The board also said that there is no need to send the film to the Indian Army before its release.

The family was against this matter
The family’s concern about the operations and military tactics shown in the film was from a national security perspective. However CBFC did not accept it. The fans of the film have become very happy with this decision of CBFC. The petition of the parents of late Ashok Chakra winner Major Mohit Sharma was heard in the Delhi High Court. The family had demanded in their petition that the release of the film Dhurandhar be banned, as they suspect that the film is inspired by their son’s life and may present a wrong image of him.

While hearing the case in Delhi High Court, Justice Sachin Dutta asked the petitioner’s lawyer how it was proved that the film is based on the life of Major Mohit Sharma, to which the lawyer said that it appears so from the trailer and promotional content of the film. He also cited the reactions of the audience and critics on social media in which the film’s connection with Major Sharma is being linked.

CBFC called the film completely fictional
During the hearing of the case, Delhi High Court questioned what exactly are the similarities and whether the story clearly matches his life. Meanwhile, the lawyer appearing for the Central Government said that the work of certification of the film is currently going on in CBFC. The committee has seen the film and in its opinion it is completely fictional and not based on the life of any person. He said that the formalities are underway and if needed, the film can also be sent to the Army.

High Court gave suggestion
Delhi High Court, while hearing the case, also suggested that the matter is sensitive, hence it would be better to send it to the Army. Major Sharma’s family also demanded a private screening of the film so that they could see for themselves what was shown in the film. The lawyer on behalf of the film producers argued that this petition has been filed in haste. Only the trailer of the film has been released and it would not be appropriate to impose any kind of restriction at this stage. He clearly said that the film has nothing to do with Major Mohit Sharma.

Delhi High Court order
While hearing the case, Delhi High Court said that the certification of the film is also pending with CBFC and it will take the final decision. While disposing of the petition, the court directed that CBFC should seriously listen to the concerns of Major Sharma’s family and pay attention to their views.

Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal’s upcoming film ‘The Taj Story’ is stuck in legal trouble even before its release. A public interest litigation regarding the film has been filed in the Delhi High Court. It has been alleged that historical facts have been distorted in this film and it may promote communal propaganda.

A lawyer named Shakeel Abbas has filed a petition against ‘The Taj Story’ in the Delhi High Court. In the application filed in Delhi High Court, he says that the story and trailer of the film can create communal tension in the society. The trailer of ‘The Taj Story’ was launched on 16 October and now its promotion is in full swing. This film is going to be released on 31st October.

Accusations were also made against the Censor Board

In the petition filed in the Delhi High Court, the Central Government, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Censor Board, the film’s production company, actor Paresh Rawal and others have been made parties. In the application filed in the court, it has been said that these people have in the past also promoted a particular political ideology by making controversial films like The Kashmir Files and The Bengal Files. There is also an allegation that the Censor Board gave the certificate to the film without properly reviewing it, whereas it has shown wrong and inflammatory information related to history.

In the application filed in the Delhi High Court, the petitioner has said that despite both the Central Government and the Censor Board being aware of the possible side effects of the film, no action was taken. In the petition, it has been demanded from the court that the Censor Board should be directed to re-review the certification of the film, if necessary, an adult certificate should be ordered or some scenes should be removed and a clear disclaimer should be added in the film that it is a fictional story and does not claim historical facts.

Demand to increase security in Agra after the release of the film

In the application filed in the Delhi High Court, the petitioner has demanded that the administration should take precautionary measures to prevent any kind of communal incident during the release of the film, especially in the Taj Mahal area in Agra. At present, Delhi High Court has expressed the possibility of hearing this petition soon.
