CBSE Re-evaluation 2026: Questions have once again arisen regarding the re-evaluation process of CBSE Class 12th. Student Vedant has claimed on social media platform

Even before this, Vedanta had alleged that he was shown the Physics answer sheet of another student during re-evaluation. Later, when they lodged objections, they were provided the correct answer sheet. However, now even after the new results they have raised questions on the evaluation process. There has been no official response from CBSE on this entire matter. The claim has been made on behalf of the student, CBSE has not said anything on this at present.

What did the student say after releasing the video?

After the results of re-evaluation came, Vedanta shared a video on social media. In the video, he said that he had applied for re-evaluation for 11 questions, but after the result came, his total marks increased by only 2. He also claimed that in the answer sheet which he had earlier raised the issue of being wrong, not a single mark of his had increased. According to him, both the increased marks were in Maths and Computer Science, although it was not related to the questions for which he had applied.

What happened after re-evaluation?

According to Vedanta, he had demanded re-evaluation of 11 questions. But only 2 marks were increased in the final result. He claims that these marks were obtained in those subjects for which he had not applied for re-evaluation. For this reason he has raised questions on the entire process.

Earlier the allegation of changed answer sheet was made

Vedanta says that when the results of the board exam were released on May 13, he was shown the wrong answer sheet of Physics subject. According to him, it was a copy of another student. Later he lodged an objection in this matter, after which the correct answer sheet was provided to him by the board. After this, there was some change in his marks, but now he says that some questions related to evaluation still remain.

Whenever there is talk of 10th and 12th board exams, the name of CBSE comes first. Crores of students and lakhs of parents of the country are associated with this board. But CBSE is not just an examination conducting body, rather it is one of the biggest boards that gives direction to the school education system of the country. In recent times, CBSE has also been in the news for its new digital evaluation system. In such a situation, it becomes important to know what CBSE is, how it works and in whose hands is its command.

CBSE i.e. Central Board of Secondary Education is a national level education board working under the Ministry of Education of the Government of India. It was established in the year 1929. At present thousands of schools in the country and abroad are affiliated with CBSE. This board performs important responsibilities like giving recognition to schools, deciding the curriculum and conducting board examinations.

Why is CBSE important in the school education of the country?

CBSE is considered to be the most influential school board in the country. Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya and a large number of private schools are affiliated to this board. CBSE curriculum is also considered very important for the students preparing for competitive examinations like medical and engineering. This is the reason why any decision of the board directly impacts crores of students.

What are the main functions of CBSE?

The responsibility of CBSE is not only to conduct examinations. This board conducts 10th and 12th examinations, provides affiliation to schools, decides the examination pattern, prepares the evaluation system and also implements new education policies. Apart from this, various educational reforms and digital initiatives for students are also implemented through this board.

Also read- SBI Recruitment: Bumper recruitment for 7150 posts in SBI, if you have not applied then apply now, last date extended.

Who is the CBSE chief?

The highest officer of CBSE is the Chairperson. Usually the Central Government appoints a senior administrative officer to this post. In June 2026, the Central Government has appointed senior IAS officer Lokhande Prashant Sitaram as the new chairperson of CBSE. Before this, he has handled important administrative responsibilities in the Central Government.

Academic experts or bureaucrats, who is in charge?

The most special thing about CBSE is that its top leadership is often with senior IAS officers. That is, the command of the institution usually remains in the hands of bureaucrats. However, academicians, subject experts and education experts also play an important role in the decisions related to curriculum, examination and education. Therefore CBSE is considered to be a hybrid model of administrative and academic expertise.

CBSE came into limelight due to OSM controversy

Recently, CBSE’s new On-Screen Marking (OSM) system was in controversy. It is a digital evaluation system through which answer sheets are checked online. Some students and parents raised questions about the evaluation process, scanned answer sheets and transparency. The matter became so serious that the central government ordered an inquiry and changes were made in the top officials of the board. After this, Delhi High Court has also sought response from the Central Government and CBSE on the petition related to this matter.

After the Class 12 results, many discussions came to the fore regarding the re-evaluation and verification process. Some students complained about technical problems on the portal, while many students saw the message ‘Roll Number Not Found’ while logging in. Now CBSE has responded on this entire issue saying that the portal ran successfully till the scheduled time and a large number of students used it.

Lakhs of students applied for re-evaluation
According to CBSE, the online application process for re-evaluation and verification continued from June 2 to June 7, 2026. During this period, more than 1.6 lakh students applied. The Board received a total of more than 3.8 lakh requests for checking, verification and revaluation of answer sheets. The Board says that there was a lot of traffic on the portal during the application process, but despite this, services were provided to the students and most of the applications were filed successfully.

Portal run under the supervision of IIT experts

CBSE said that this time the help of government technical agencies and IIT experts was taken to make the entire process safe and transparent. The portal was continuously monitored so that any technical problems could be resolved immediately. According to the board, the capacity of the system was increased to provide better facilities to the students and security arrangements were also strengthened.

The process continued despite attempts of cyber attacks

CBSE also admitted that some cyber attacks and unauthorized entry attempts had come to light in the initial days of the application process. However, the security teams took immediate action and implemented additional security measures. According to the board, the portal was kept secure with the help of load testing, security audit, penetration testing and continuous monitoring. For this reason the application process could be completed without any major disruption.

What was the reason for ‘Roll Number Not Found’?

During the re-evaluation process, the most discussed issue was ‘Roll Number Not Found’. Many students complained about this on social media and other platforms. On this CBSE clarified that this was not a technical glitch. According to the board, only those students were eligible for the next stage of re-evaluation and verification, who had applied to obtain the scanned copy or photocopy of their evaluated answer sheets in the first stage. Students who had not applied in the first stage were not considered eligible for the next stage in the system. Only such students saw the message ‘Roll Number Not Found’.

Facilities will continue to help students

CBSE has said that it is committed to maintaining a transparent and trustworthy system for the students. The helpline, grievance redressal system and other support services of the board will continue so that the problems of the students can be resolved in a timely manner.

There is news of relief for lakhs of students of CBSE Board. An attempt was made to carry out a major cyber attack on the re-evaluation and verification portal of the board, but the technical team stopped it in time. The special thing is that despite the attack, the services of the portal continued to run normally and thousands of students also applied for checking and revaluation of their answer sheets.

Cyber attack targeting the portal

CBSE has informed that recently a Denial of Service (DoS) cyber attack was carried out on its re-evaluation portal. In this type of attack, too much data is sent simultaneously to a website or server so that the system slows down or stops. It was reported that an attempt was made to influence the portal by sending about 3.8 million data packets. However, the technical team of CBSE was continuously monitoring and immediately implemented security measures and foiled the attack. Due to this the students did not have to face any major problems.

More than 56 thousand students applied

Despite the cyber attack, students’ faith in the portal remained intact. According to the board, till night, more than 56,000 applications had been submitted for verification and re-evaluation. This figure shows that a large number of students want to get their exam results re-checked. Many students are applying to check possible errors in the answer sheets, while some students are demanding recalculation of their marks and re-evaluation of answers.

For which problems can you apply?

CBSE has already provided the students with their scanned answer sheets. After seeing these copies, students can lodge many types of complaints. If any page is missing in any answer sheet, extra sheet is not included, the scanned copy is not clearly visible or the evaluation has been done on the basis of wrong question paper set, then students can complain about it. Apart from this, an application can also be made for re-evaluation of a particular answer.

The board is continuously working on technical improvements.

CBSE says that its technical team is constantly monitoring the portal. In view of the increasing number of applications, the capacity of the system is being increased so that students do not face any kind of technical problem. The board also said that the portal was earlier stopped for some time due to technical upgrade. After this, it was made more secure and faster so that the data of millions of students remains safe and the services continue without interruption.

Help from multiple banks for payment

Keeping in mind the convenience of the students, CBSE has linked the payment gateways of many government banks with its system. These include State Bank of India (SBI), Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank and Indian Bank. Thousands of online payments have been successfully made through these banks. Students can deposit the fee through various means like UPI, debit card, credit card and internet banking. This has made the application process easier and more convenient than before.

There is a relief news for lakhs of CBSE Class 12 students. Students who were not able to apply to get the scanned copy of their answer book, have now got one day’s extra time. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to extend the last date of application, which will provide great convenience to the students.

Actually, after the release of the results of the board exam 2026, many students want to see their copies so that they can understand the marks obtained in a better way. For this, CBSE had started the process of providing scanned copies of answer sheets. Earlier the last date to apply for this was fixed as 23 May 2026, but now it has been extended to 24 May 2026.

increased pressure on the website

According to the board, in the last few days the number of students on the website had suddenly increased significantly. A large number of students were trying to apply simultaneously. Due to this, the website witnessed heavy traffic and many students faced difficulty in applying. Some students complained that they could not submit their forms in time.

Meanwhile, the board also said that some unauthorized interference attempts were also seen on the website, due to which the technical problems increased further. In such a situation, many students faced obstacles in completing the application process.

Also read – NEET Fee Refund Process: Fee refund process started after NEET Paper Leak, students will have to do this work

Decision taken considering the problems of students

CBSE took the feedback received from students and parents seriously. The Board believes that no student should be deprived of this facility merely due to technical reasons. With this in mind, the last date of application has been extended by one day. The board says that now students whose applications are pending can complete the online process till 24 May 2026. This will provide relief to those students who were not able to apply on time due to website problem.

Why is scan copy necessary?

After the examination results are declared, many students are not satisfied with their marks. In such a situation, they want to know how their answer sheet has been evaluated. On receiving the scanned copy, students can see their copy in detail and understand where marks have been deducted. If a student feels that his/her answers have not been evaluated properly, he/she can decide about further process like verification or revaluation. Therefore, the facility of scan copy is considered very important for the students.

CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation: After the declaration of CBSE 12th results, this time the biggest discussion is about re-evaluation and On Screen Marking (OSM) system. Many students claimed on social media that they had got lower marks than expected. Meanwhile, the Board held a press conference amid the ongoing controversies regarding on-screen marking of CBSE 12th Board Exam.

To provide relief to the students, the re-evaluation fee has been reduced by the CBSE Board. Students can now check their answer sheet for just Rs 100. Earlier this fee was Rs 700. And for re-evaluation they will have to pay Rs 25 per question. Meanwhile, the question in the minds of students is that if their marks increase after re-evaluation, will their fees be refunded or not? Let us know the answer…

Full fees will be refunded

The board has made it clear that if a student gets re-evaluation done and his marks increase, then the entire fee will be refunded to the student. This announcement of CBSE is being seen as a big relief for the students. Let us tell you, this time there has been a decline in the results. Compared to last year, this time the pass percentage has declined by 3 percent, which has come down from 88 percent to 85 percent. Some students also feel that they should have got more marks than they actually got. CBSE says that these changes have been made to provide relief to the students and to make the process easier. Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar said that the board does not want any student to feel that his hard work has not been properly respected.

Also read: JEE Advanced 2026: JEE Advanced 2026: How to get scholarship in IIT Kharagpur? Know the terms and marks information

Why was there controversy regarding OSM system?

Actually, this year CBSE has used OSM i.e. On Screen Marking system for checking the copies of class 12th. In this, the answer sheets of the students have been scanned and checked digitally. After the results came, many students said that they had got less marks than expected, especially in subjects like Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Some students even said that despite getting good marks in JEE Main, they got less marks in the board exam. After these complaints, CBSE clarified in a press conference that OSM is not a new system and it has been used earlier also. The board said that this time around 98 lakh answer sheets were scanned and the copies which had scanning problems were checked manually.

How can students apply for re-checking?

If any student feels that his marks are less than expected, then he can apply for re-checking by visiting the official website of CBSE. For this, first of all the student will have to apply for number verification. After this he can see his scanned answer sheet. If still a mistake is found in any question, then an application can be made for re-evaluation of that question. In this, the entire process is online and fees also have to be deposited online. CBSE releases the dates of each step separately, hence students have been advised to keep a constant eye on the board’s website so that they do not miss any important date.

CBSE has issued a big statement for the students worried about the 12th board result. The board has said that many students are expressing concerns about their marks due to the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system re-introduced this year. Some students feel that their marks have been affected due to the new evaluation process. In such a situation, CBSE has made it clear that it is seriously understanding the concerns of the students and is fully ready to help them.

What did CBSE say?

CBSE says that the mental health and well-being of students is of utmost importance to it. The board said that the OSM system was implemented so that the copies can be examined in a uniform manner and all the students get fair marks.

Result may be released on this date appeared first on .

Cbse 12th Result 2026: The wait for the results of CBSE 12th Board Exam 2026 has now reached the final stage. More than 18 lakh students are eagerly waiting for their results, because this result will play an important role in deciding the direction of their college admission and career. The board has not yet announced the official date for the result, but based on the trend of the last few years and current updates, there is every possibility of the result being released in the second or third week of May.

When can 12th board result be released?

This year CBSE 12th examinations were held between 17 February to 10 April 2026. After this, the work of evaluation of copies started in a step wise manner. According to the report, the result can be released between May 10 and 15. If we look at the pattern of previous years, the results in 2025 and 2024 were declared on 13 May, whereas in 2023 the results were declared on 12 May. On this basis, this time too the results are expected to come by mid-May. However, in some updates, the possibility of results being released even by the third week has been expressed.

How is the marksheet prepared?

The process of preparing CBSE marksheet has become completely digital. After checking the copies at the evaluation centres, the examiners upload the marks directly into the digital system. The board is using technologies like real time data entry and on screen marking, which reduces the chances of error and makes the process faster. After this, moderation policy is implemented, so that the difficulty level of different question paper sets can be balanced. If the paper on any set is more difficult then adjustments in marks can be made accordingly, so that injustice is not done to any student.

Grace marks and rechecking

The board also provides relief to those students who are failing by one or two marks. In such cases, grace marks can be given as per internal policy. Apart from this, random re-checking is also done in some copies, so that the quality of evaluation can be ensured. At the same time, in the final marksheet, not only the theory marks are included, but the marks of internal assessment and practicals sent by the schools are also added.

CBSE board’s 12th class exams will end on April 9. After which the students will be eagerly waiting for the results. The results will be released on the official site of the board cbse.nic.in. No date has been confirmed by the board. However, looking at the trend of previous years, it is being estimated that CBSE class 12th result can be released by mid-May.

If we talk about last year, the result for 2025 was declared on 13 May. On this basis, it is believed that this year also the result may be released around this time. However, students are advised to rely only on official information.

How many students appeared for the exam this year?

A large number of students participated in the CBSE 12th board examination in 2026. According to the available data, about 10.2 lakh boys and 8.3 lakh girls appeared in the examination. Due to the examination being conducted on such a large scale, the process of preparing the result also takes time, hence some delay is normal.

Where to check result?

cbse.gov.in

cbse.nic.in

results.cbse.nic.in

cbseresults.nic.in

Also read – CBSE has changed the picture of education, third language is mandatory from class 6, emphasis on skills and technology in 9-10.

Method to check result

First of all go to the official website cbse.nic.in.

After this click on the link of “Class 12 Result 2026”.

Now enter your roll number, school number and admit card ID.

As soon as you submit, your result will appear on the screen.

After this you can download it and take a print out.

You can see the result in other ways also

Many times, at the time of release of results, the site becomes slow due to high traffic on the website. In such a situation, students can also use other platforms. The result can also be checked through DigiLocker, UMANG app and SMS. These methods are especially helpful when the website is not working properly.

How many marks are required to pass?

To pass CBSE class 12th, it is mandatory for students to score at least 33 percent marks in every subject. This rule applies separately to both theory and practical. That means it is necessary to pass both, only then the student will be considered successful.
