Petrol-Diesel Rate Today on July 12: Today, Sunday, July 12, there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel across the country. Whereas oil prices had fallen on Friday. On this day, Brent crude slipped to $ 76.24 per barrel and WTI crude closed at Rs 72.04 per barrel. This fall in oil prices came amid positive news regarding the ceasefire and peace agreement between America and Iran despite tensions, which raised hopes of resuming energy shipping from the Strait of Hormuz. America, meanwhile, refrained from targeting Iran’s main energy infrastructure. He also said that “this conflict will not turn into a long war.” His saying this has reduced the fear of investors to some extent.

Will the prices of petrol and diesel reduce now?

Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had indicated last week that at present there is no consideration of reducing fuel prices domestically. This decision has been taken when OPEC+ has announced to increase oil production by 1,88,000 barrels per day from August 2026. This is the 50th consecutive month when countries included in OPEC+ have increased their production limits. Let us tell you that since the tension between America and Iran started in the last week of February, fuel prices in the country have increased four times in the last four months, due to which the prices have increased by about Rs 7.5-8 per liter during this period.

Why are rates different in different cities?

The central government imposes uniform excise duty across the country, but state governments impose VAT or sales tax on petrol and diesel in different percentages. For example, oil is cheap in Andaman and Nicobar due to very low taxes. At the same time, in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, oil becomes expensive due to high taxes. Transportation costs and the current supply-demand situation also impact the retail price that customers see at the petrol pump.

Petrol-Diesel Rate Today on July 9: Crude oil prices rose by about 6% on Wednesday due to the renewed war between America and Iran. Brent crude futures rose $4.58, or 6.09%, to $78.66 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude rose $4.22, or 6%, to $74.65 a barrel. Both these benchmarks are trading at their highest levels since June 23. In such a situation, the expectations of reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel in India have also reduced, which were raised after the recent fall in crude oil.

The prices of petrol and diesel in India have remained stable since May 25. Last time, government oil marketing companies (OMCs) had increased the prices of petrol by Rs 2.61 per liter and diesel by Rs 2.71 per liter. The price of petrol in Delhi remains above Rs 100 per liter at Rs 102.12 per liter, while diesel is being sold at Rs 95.20 per liter.

Why did oil prices increase?

US President Donald Trump, while talking to reporters during the ongoing NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, talked about the end of the ceasefire with Iran. He said, “According to me, this ceasefire has now ended.” Regarding the peace agreement signed between America and Iran in June, he said that talking to Iran is a complete waste of time. After this statement of Trump, once again the fear of increasing tension between the two countries and stopping the supply of oil through the Strait of Hormuz has started troubling us again. This is the reason why oil prices suddenly increased yesterday.

What will be the impact on India?

India imports about 85% of its crude oil requirement from abroad. In such a situation, the rise in prices in the international markets has a direct impact on Indian oil companies because imports become expensive for them. If crude oil prices continue to rise at the same pace in the global market and remain above $80 for a long time, then domestic fuel prices may increase in India too in the coming days.

<iframe title="E20 Fuel का सबसे बड़ा सच!
Petrol-Diesel Rate Today on July 3: There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel even today. Today in the national capital Delhi, the price of petrol is Rs 102.12 and the price of diesel is Rs 95.20 per liter. Similarly, the price of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 111.18 per liter and the price of diesel is Rs 97.83 per liter.

After the country’s largest private fuel retailer – Naira Energy reduced the prices of petrol by Rs 5 per liter and diesel by Rs 3 per liter, now the government oil companies are also expected to reduce the prices.

When did Nayara increase the prices?

Due to the war between America and Iran and the resulting increase in global crude oil prices, Naira Energy had increased the price of petrol by Rs 5 per liter and diesel by Rs 3 per liter on March 26. Later, state-owned oil companies (OMCs) increased petrol and diesel prices by a combined Rs 7.50 per liter in May. The reason cited behind this was the high prices of crude oil at the international level and increasing import costs.

When will petrol and diesel become cheaper?

Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Thursday that there will be no increase in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country at present. He said that the government has handled the impact of increased global crude oil prices.

When asked about when the prices of petrol and diesel will come down, the Union Minister said that the effect of changes in international crude oil prices is not immediately visible in the retail fuel prices because their purchase, transportation and refining takes time. He said that the crude oil used to make the petrol and diesel currently being sold at fuel stations was purchased about two months ago, when international prices were high. Responding to expectations of lower prices, the minister said that the government will keep an eye on global crude oil prices in the coming weeks. If prices remain at this level, we will review the situation every 10 to 15 days.

Petrol-Diesel Rate Today on June 2: Leading private sector oil company Nayara Energy has cut the prices of petrol by Rs 5 per liter and diesel by Rs 3 per liter tomorrow on July 1, 2026.

After this decision of the company, now the general public of the country is hopeful that government oil marketing companies (OMCs) can also announce reduction in retail fuel prices. Let us tell you that the new prices of Naira have been implemented in more than 7000 pumps across the country.

When did Naira increase its prices?

Naira had increased petrol prices by Rs 5 per liter and diesel prices by Rs 3 per liter in March when tensions in West Asia reached their peak amid the war between America and Iran. Now, with the ongoing peace talks in Doha between America and Iran, the situation has become normal to a great extent. Crude oil has also started being supplied through the Strait of Hormuz, hence the company has also reduced the prices which were increased earlier.

Government oil companies did not reduce prices

Government oil companies in India – Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) – have not made any change in the fuel prices in the country even today, July 2. Let us tell you that more than 90% of the outlets of petrol pumps across the country belong to these three companies.

Government oil companies are in no hurry

At the peak of tensions in West Asia, when crude oil prices in the global market reached record high levels, government oil companies had to suffer huge losses (under-recovery). According to the report of Moneycontrol, industry experts say that right now the companies want to compensate for the losses incurred in the last few months and at the same time they are also keeping an eye on the ups and downs of the global situation. It has been said in the report that even though the prices of crude oil have come down, there is still a possibility of continuation of the ceasefire and interruption in supply again.

What did the Petroleum Minister say?

Meanwhile, Indian consumers troubled by rising fuel prices may get some relief in the coming months. Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that oil prices are unlikely to remain at their current high levels for ‘very long’ and are expected to decline in the coming months.
His statement came at a time when the global energy market is under pressure amidst the atmosphere of tension related to Iran. Due to this, there has been disruption in the supply of oil and gas and the prices of crude oil have reached near the level of $ 100 per barrel.

Rates will reduce despite tension

According to a Reuters report, while talking to CNN-News18, Puri said that despite the current geopolitical tension, oil and gas prices are likely to decline in the coming months.

Global crude oil prices have risen sharply since the conflict affected shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy routes. Before the conflict began, about a fifth of the world’s oil and gas supplies passed through this narrow waterway. However, the minister expressed confidence that the current level of prices is unlikely to persist for long.

Petrol-Diesel Rate Today on June 7: The household budget of common consumers of the country has received a big blow today as the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 29. The government has increased the prices of LPG due to increasing tension in West Asia and increasing fears of supply disruption in the Middle East.

This is the second increase in domestic LPG prices in the last three months after the increase of Rs 60 in March this year. After this change, the price of domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased from Rs 915.50 to Rs 944.50. This increase is applicable to domestic cooking gas cylinders in major cities of the country, while there is no change in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders.

Changed price of petrol and diesel?

After the increase in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders, it is a matter of relief that today there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country. Even though prices have not increased today due to the West Asia crisis, government oil companies are still selling fuel at much less than the cost. At present, they are incurring a loss of about Rs 11 per liter on petrol and Rs 33.6 per liter on diesel.

Petrol-Diesel Rate on June 6: Today, on June 5, 2026, the prices of petrol and diesel in the country have remained stable after increasing the rates several times in the last few weeks. Global crude oil prices are fluctuating due to geopolitical tensions in West Asia and disruptions in energy supply due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, market experts are closely monitoring the possibility of another change in fuel prices.

Why were the prices increased?

The recent increase in fuel prices is mainly due to rising international crude oil prices and increasing pressure on state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs). Industry estimates show that despite price increases several times in the month of May, OMCs are still incurring significant losses (under-recovery) on the sale of petrol and diesel. Reports indicate that the scale of losses is so great that there is speculation that prices may rise further to turn a profit.

How much has increased so far?

Fuel prices have increased rapidly in the last few weeks. Since May 15, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased several times, due to which their prices have increased by about Rs 7.5 per liter in many cities. Oil companies gradually increased these prices to compensate for the rising costs of procurement and refining amid ongoing fluctuations in the energy market.

Petrol & Diesel Price Today on May 5: Recently, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders in the country have increased by a huge amount of Rs 993. In such a situation, the question arises whether after the increase in the price of gas cylinder, now it is the turn of petrol and diesel?

Let us tell you that these days oil marketing companies (OMCs) are in talks with the central government to increase the prices of petrol and diesel because they are incurring losses on selling fuel retail. To compensate for this loss, government companies are planning to increase fuel rates.

How much can the price increase per liter?

MoneyControl report quoted a senior government official as saying, “OMCs are incurring losses on the sale of petrol, diesel and LPG and are in constant touch with the Petroleum Ministry and the Finance Ministry, with whom discussions are going on regarding the price increase.” Another government official was quoted as saying that the prices may increase by Rs 2-4 per liter.

Why may prices increase?

Due to increasing tension between Iran and America and the ongoing crisis in West Asia, the prices of Brent crude oil has crossed $ 126 per barrel. Because of this companies are incurring losses.

The government is trying to avoid this increase in prices so that inflation does not increase in the country. There has been no major increase in the prices of petrol and diesel for the last four years. At present, after the completion of assembly elections in four states, it is being estimated that the increase in fuel prices is just a matter of time.

Petrol-Diesel Rate Today on April 25: Today, on Saturday 25th April, there is no change in the prices of petrol and diesel in India. At the same time, price fluctuations still continue in the global crude oil markets. Despite fluctuations in international oil prices and currency exchange rates, retail fuel prices in the country remain stable. At present there has been no change in the rates of petrol and diesel in many big cities of the country.

Rates released every morning

India’s three major oil marketing companies (OMCs) — Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) — release petrol and diesel prices every morning at 6 am based on changes in international crude oil prices and the dollar-rupee exchange rate. These prices affect everyone from a vegetable seller to an auto-rickshaw driver. In such a situation, it is important to be aware of the daily prices. However, prices have remained stable in recent times.

Will fuel prices increase?

The news of a possible increase in the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 25-28 per liter after the assembly elections being held in many states of the country is going viral these days, denying which the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) said in a post on X, “There is no such proposal under consideration of the government.”

The Government of India said on Thursday that state-owned oil companies are incurring a loss of about Rs 20 per liter on petrol and about Rs 100 per liter on diesel because despite the rise in global oil prices, pump prices have remained stable for the last four years. The ministry said there is no immediate plan to increase retail fuel rates.

Petrol-Diesel Price on April 17: Today on Friday, the prices of petrol and diesel remain stable in the country. Along with this, the long-running trend of changes in the prices of petrol and diesel is still going on. Despite fluctuations in crude oil prices in the global market and changes in currency, oil prices at the retail level remain at the same rate. Till now, no significant change has been seen in fuel prices in many big cities.

India’s three major oil marketing companies (OMCs) — Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) — change fuel prices every day in line with global crude oil prices and foreign currency exchange rates. However, prices have remained stable in recent times. The price of petrol in Delhi remains at Rs 94.77 per liter, while the price of diesel is Rs 87.67 per liter. Prices are higher in Mumbai, where petrol is being sold at Rs 103.49 per liter and diesel at around Rs 90.03 per litre.

100% supply guarantee amid crisis

According to ANI report, the Government of India has given priority to the needs of domestic consumers amid energy disruptions caused by the ongoing crisis in West Asia and has ensured the supply of 100 percent piped natural gas (PNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Speaking at an inter-ministerial briefing on recent developments in West Asia, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing and Oil Refinery) in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said the government has implemented several effective measures to stabilize the energy scenario and maintain essential services.

He said, “As you know, India’s energy supply was also affected due to the West Asia crisis, but the Government of India has taken many effective steps, due to which 100 percent supply has been ensured by giving priority to domestic PNG and LPG consumers. Apart from this, CNG transportation has also been 100 percent ensured.”
