A 26 year old sadhu from Sitamarhi district of Bihar is continuously attracting everyone for his unique spiritual vow. He claims that he has not sat or lay down for the last seven years.

This young sadhu, known as Shankarpuri, was seen standing on one leg at the Magh Mela. He also uses a wooden support to support his head while sleeping. He says that from eating to worshiping, he does all his daily work while standing.

Shankarpuri said, ‘I am a resident of Naimisharanya. It is believed that 88 thousand sages live there. I was born there and I also have an ashram at that holy place. From that very land the thought came to my mind that I should stand. I have been a saint since the age of six.

A case of murder of three people of the same family has come to light in Mauaima police station area of ​​Ganga Nagar zone of Prayagraj. The elder son of the family kidnapped the father, sister and niece and killed them. After the murder, the accused threw the bodies of all three in the well.

It is being told that all three have been killed due to family dispute. All three deceased were missing since 11 pm on Friday (January 2). After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigation.

Police have arrested the killer’s son Mukesh Patel. Mukesh Patel has murdered his father Ram Singh, aged 55, and sister Sadhna Devi, aged 21, along with his 14-year-old niece. The accused committed the murder over a property dispute.

The deceased’s younger son Mukund had lodged a missing report. After the complaint, the police started searching for the three. Even after searching for two days, nothing was found about the three, but when the police arrested the accused Mukesh, he confessed to his crime during police interrogation.

During interrogation, the accused told that due to greed for property, he had killed his father, sister and niece and thrown their bodies in the well. Mukesh also told that after killing all three, he had also shot his younger brother Mukund.

At present, the police have recovered the bodies of all three from the well on the instructions of the murderer’s son. Police have registered a case of murder against Mukesh and started further legal proceedings. This case is of Lokpur Bisani village of Mauaima police station area.

Magh Mela 2026 has started in Sangam city Prayagraj from today i.e. from 3rd January 2026. On the first bathing festival of Paush Purnima, people gathered on the banks of Sangam. Devotees are taking the dip of faith in the harsh cold, till now lakhs of people have taken the dip of faith since Brahma Muhurta. Arrangements for 50 ambulances have been made in the fair.

Apart from this, 25 thousand toilets, 8 thousand dustbins, more than 10 lakh liner bags, 30 suction vehicles have been installed in Magh Mela, three thousand cleaning workers have been deployed.
