With the declaration of results on May 4, the political picture of West Bengal has become clear. BJP has achieved a huge majority by winning 207 seats, while Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress, which has been in power for almost one and a half decade, was reduced to 80 seats. After the election results, preparations for the formation of the new assembly have intensified. The Election Commission has issued the official notification. The notification has been sent to the Governor, with this the way for the formation of a new government has also been cleared. If sources are to be believed, BJP legislature party meeting may be held on May 8. On the same day, Amit Shah, who became the Union Home Minister and Bengal observer, can go to Kolkata.

Tenure ending on 7th May

The tenure of the West Bengal Assembly is ending on 7 May. This notification of the Election Commission has come amidst the outgoing Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee alleging rigging in the recently held assembly elections in the state and refusing to tender her resignation. Speaking to media persons in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee ruled out the possibility of submitting her resignation as Chief Minister to the Governor. He said, ‘Why should I resign now? We have not lost in the real sense. These results show massive rigging and looting of votes, then where does the question of resignation arise?

When can the oath taking ceremony take place in Bengal?

If sources are to be believed, the swearing-in of the new government in West Bengal may take place on May 9. This day is the birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, hence it is being considered special. Earlier, Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya had also given information about the swearing-in of the government. He said that May 9 is the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, the swearing-in ceremony will take place on the same day and it has been announced by the Prime Minister.

West Bengal Election Result: When will the government take oath in Bengal? BJP leader told the date, PM Modi approved it

The way to form a government is open

Apart from West Bengal, the Election Commission has also issued notification regarding the formation of new assemblies in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The Election Commission’s notifications have opened the way for leaders of winning parties in each state and union territory to stake claim to form the government before the end of the tenure of the previous state assembly. The tenure of Tamil Nadu Assembly is ending on 10th May, that of Assam on 20th May, that of Kerala on 23rd May and that of Puducherry on 15th June.

This time a big political change has been seen in the results of West Bengal Assembly elections. The biggest setback has been suffered by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has lost from Bhawanipur seat against Leader of Opposition Subhendu Adhikari by 15,501 votes. According to the Election Commission, Subhendu Adhikari got 73,917 votes, while Mamata Banerjee got 58,801 votes. Earlier in 2021 also, Mamata Banerjee had lost to Shubhendu Adhikari on Nandigram seat by about 1,500 votes. Thus, this is the second consecutive time that he has faced defeat from his former ally.

This result is part of a larger wave in which the Bharatiya Janata Party has performed strongly across the state. During this period, many big leaders and ministers of Trinamool Congress also lost the elections. Minister of State for Finance Chandrima Bhattacharya lost from Dumdum North by about 16,000 votes. Debashish Kumar lost from Rash Behari by 21,000 votes and Education Minister Bratya Basu lost from Dumdum by more than 25,000 votes. Jyotipriya Mallik lost in Habra by more than 31,000 votes. Shashi Panja from Shyampukur and Arup Biswas from Tollygunge also could not save their seats.

Trinamool suffered big loss

Trinamool suffered big losses in other areas also. Agriculture Minister Becharam Manna lost from Singur by more than 21,000 votes. Indranil Sen from Chandannagar and Manas Bhuiyan from Sabang also lost the election. Paresh Chandra Adhikari, who was embroiled in the teacher recruitment case, also had to face defeat by about 30,000 votes. Sujit Basu lost from Bidhannagar by 37,000 votes, while Gautam Deb lost from Siliguri by more than 73,000 votes. Shaukat Mollah, considered close to Mamata Banerjee, was defeated by ISF’s Naushad Siddiqui by more than 32,000 votes from Bhangar seat. The defeat of Udayan Guha from Dinhata, Sabyasachi Dutta from Barasat and Minister Malay Ghatak from Asansol North also clearly shows that this time the voters have taken a big decision.

Record turnout in elections

This election was considered very important for Mamata Banerjee. After being in power for 15 years, this election was a big test of his leadership. If she had won, her position in future politics would have been stronger, but this time she had to face many challenges, such as allegations of corruption, recruitment scams and public resentment. There are a total of 294 seats in the state and tough competition was seen on many seats. Seats like Bhawanipur, Nandigram, Tollygunge, Dinhata, Singur, Bhangar, Kharagpur, Siliguri, Barrackpur and Rash Behari were in discussion. Another special thing about this election was the record voting. A total of 92.47 percent voting took place in the elections held in two phases. Voting was 93.13 percent in the first phase and 91.66 percent in the second phase. This is the highest turnout so far, surpassing the record of 2011.

Counting of votes continues for West Bengal Assembly elections. Initial trends indicate that BJP will form the government with full majority. Amidst the counting, a big statement from the state’s Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Aggarwal has come out. He said that the Election Commission has tried its best to make the elections fair. He also indicated that in the coming time, elections can be held in Bengal in a single phase.

What did the Chief Electoral Officer of Bengal say?

West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Aggarwal said, ‘We have tried our best to conduct free and fair elections, we have tried our best to maintain law and order.

West Bengal Election Result 2026: The politics of West Bengal today is not just watching the counting of votes, but is waiting for the moment when the picture will be clear. 4 May 2026, the day of counting, numbers are changing on the TV screen outside, the heartbeat of every party is fast inside.

But meanwhile astrology is opening a layer which gives a different perspective to understand this entire day. This perspective does not just tell who is ahead and who is behind, but it also tells how the day will go, at what time the game will change and in whose hands the power can rest in the end.

The almanac of this day first attracts attention. The Moon is in Scorpio, and this is the key to this entire day. Scorpio Moon doesn’t always write a straight story. This is a situation where what appears in the beginning is not true in the end.

In politics, this situation is often associated with sudden reversals, hidden figures and last-minute twists. Therefore, if someone draws quick conclusions after seeing the morning trends, he can make the biggest mistake.

The day starts with Anuradha Nakshatra and later Jyestha Nakshatra becomes active. This change is not very simple. Anuradha’s nature is one of cooperation and balance, whereas Jyestha indicates direct power and dominance. What this means is clear – till the morning the contest will appear balanced and tough, but as time progresses, one side may suddenly appear to be in the lead. This is the point where the entire narrative can change.

Parigha Yoga is also active on this day, which in itself indicates obstruction, conflict and instability. In election language this means that counting will not be smooth. At some places there will be delays, at some places the margin will be very less, and on many seats the situation will not be clear till the last round. This is why this day will not be straight but will be full of ups and downs.

But the most decisive indication of this entire calendar is given by Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga. This yoga says that in the end only the one whose foundation is strong wins. That means, only those who are already established, who have the land base, can take the lead in the last round. This is the signal that decides the direction of the final result after a whole day of suspense.

Now if this is linked to the horoscope of April 29, 2026, the picture becomes more clear. In that horoscope the lord of power was in a weak position and the influence of the opposition seemed strong. This meant that the contest would not be easy and the ruling party would remain under pressure. But in the same horoscope, there was a decisive sign of Rahu, which was situated in the sixth house. In the scriptures, this situation is considered a sign of victory over the opponents. This meant that even if the regime appeared to be wavering, it might not ultimately collapse completely.

Put these two symbols together and the complete counting pattern emerges. The trends in the morning may be seen going in favor of the opposition. The numbers will keep changing on the TV screen, and at times it will feel as if power is slipping out of hand. The situation may become more complicated by the afternoon, where the difference in many seats will be very less and the trend will keep changing with each round. But as the final phase approaches, there may be a sudden stability, and only the side which already has a strong base can take the lead.

This is where the question arises whether Mamata Banerjee’s government will be formed again? The conclusion of this entire astrological analysis indicates that his return is possible, but this return will not be as easy as before. This victory will not be easy, but will be achieved after a struggle till the last moment. A reduction in seats is possible, pressure may increase, and the opposition will continue to challenge throughout, but in the end a complete change of power does not seem easy.

West Bengal Election Result 2026 LIVE:

The biggest psychological aspect of this day is that whatever is seen may not be true. The trend that will be formed in the initial hours of counting may be different from the final result. This is why patience will be the biggest strategy on this day, both for the parties and for the audience. Many times victory in politics is decided not just by votes but by time, and on this day, the biggest question is which way is the time inclined.

If this entire day has to be understood in one sentence, then it can be said that the fight in Bengal will remain open till the last round. The suspense will remain, the trends will keep changing, and in the end only the side which was standing on the ground from the beginning can win. This is not an election where there is a clear wave, but this is an election where the story changes every hour and the last page is different.

This analysis is based on the Panchang and Prashna Kundli of Vedic Astrology. The actual outcome depends on many social and political factors, but when the times themselves begin to signal, it becomes important to understand those signals.

A minor clash broke out between Trinamool Congress and BJP supporters on Sunday (May 3, 2026) outside a counting center in Bidhannagar in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. According to the police, tension had arisen due to an altercation between workers and supporters of both the parties in front of the strong room on Saturday night.

According to the report of IANS, during this time there was sloganeering and counter-sloganing, which turned into a clash within some time. A large number of central forces reached the spot to bring the situation under control. Police also arrived and dispersed the supporters. Later, Trinamool and BJP workers were separated and barricades were placed between them.

The BJP alleged that Trinamool workers had put up party flags in their camp set up outside the counting centre, which triggered the controversy. At the same time, Trinamool raised its voice against BJP and claimed that central forces lathi-charged them. However, the situation did not worsen after the intervention of central forces and Bidhannagar police. Security has been increased around the strong room while strict arrangements have been made outside all other counting centers as well. The administration has already banned bursting of firecrackers and taking out victory processions outside the centers on the day of counting.

Counting of votes will be held on Monday at 77 counting centers for 293 seats under the two-phase assembly elections in West Bengal. The Election Commission on Saturday announced re-polling at all booths of Phalta assembly constituency in South 24 Parganas district, as serious electoral irregularities were found in the second phase of voting held on April 29. Therefore, votes of 293 assembly constituencies, except Phalta, will be counted. The Election Commission has taken several steps to tighten security around the counting centres.

Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Saturday told her party’s counting agents to demand immediate recount where the BJP is ahead by 500 to 700 votes. He also instructed the agents to stay in a lodge or hotel on Sunday night, so that they can reach the counting center on time on Monday morning. He gave these instructions to the agents of all the assembly constituencies through a virtual meeting.

The political atmosphere in West Bengal has become more heated before the counting of votes on May 4, 2026. BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari has made serious allegations regarding the counting process. Shubhendu Adhikari shared the screenshot on social media platform X and claimed that many officers engaged in counting duty are sharing information related to their deployment outside. According to the BJP leader, these officers are telling information like their place of duty, position and responsibilities to the organizations or associations of their department.

Shubhendu Adhikari also said that some spreadsheets and lists are being circulated in which officials themselves or under pressure are filling the information related to their election duties. This information also includes their role in the counting process. Shubhendu Adhikari says that this is a serious violation of election rules and can lead to many problems. He believes that if information about the posting of an officer reaches organizations that may have political inclinations, then pressure can be put on him or attempts can be made to influence him.

The fairness of Bengal’s election results will be affected
The leader of the opposition in the Bengal Assembly also said that the fairness of the counting process largely depends on the fact that the information about the officer’s posting is kept secret. If this confidentiality is broken then the fairness of the results may be affected. Apart from this, he expressed apprehension that collecting information in this way may also be an attempt by some organizations to put pressure on the officer, so that a particular party can be benefited during the counting.

Demand for intervention from Election Commission

With these allegations, Shubhendu Adhikari has demanded immediate intervention of the Election Commission and the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal. He said that officers should be given strict instructions not to share any information related to their counting duties with any organization or association. Along with this, he also demanded that such organizations should be investigated which are collecting such sensitive information.

After complaints of irregularities during elections in West Bengal, the Election Commission has taken a big decision. Re-voting is being conducted at a total of 15 polling stations in Diamond Harbor and Magrahat West assembly constituencies. In the order issued earlier, it was made clear that re-voting would be held at 11 booths of Magrahat West and 4 booths of Diamond Harbour.

The Chief Electoral Officer of the state said that during the voting held on April 29, 2026, some reports had come out in which irregularities were said. Based on the report of the Returning Officer and Observer, the Election Commission canceled the voting held at these booths under the Representation of the People Act 1951. Now on May 2, 2026, re-polling is being held at all these 15 booths.

Voting begins in Magrahat West

Voting has started at all these centers at 7 am, which will continue till 6 pm. The Election Commission has also said that information about this re-voting should be made available to as many people as possible. For this, instructions have been given to make announcement by playing drums in the area and to give written information to all the candidates. The booths in Magrahat West where re-voting is taking place include separate rooms of North Yerpur FP School, Najra FP School, Deula FP School, Ghola Noypara Girls High Madrasa, Ektara Malaya FP School and several rooms of Bahirpuya Kurkuria FP School. Whereas in Diamond Harbour, re-polling is being conducted in one room each of Bagda Junior High School, Chandra FP School, Haridevpur FP School and Roynagar FP School.

What did Shubhendu Adhikari say?

On the question of re-polling, West Bengal LoP Suvendu Adhikari said, ‘Whatever happened in Magarhat West is welcome. Re-polling should have been done at more booths in Diamond Harbor and the entire Falta segment. This is a system and procedure which is being followed. We respect the Election Commission.

Bengal election results will be declared on May 4

This time voting was held in two phases in the state on 23 April and 29 April. According to the Election Commission, this time a total of 92.47 percent voting took place, which is considered to be the highest till date. Now the results of these elections will be declared on May 4. The administration is fully alert to prevent any kind of violence after the elections. Kolkata Police has banned the gathering of people at seven places where counting of votes is to take place. The step was taken when Trinamool Congress leaders protested at the Netaji Indoor Stadium and alleged that ballot boxes were opened without their representatives. State Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Aggarwal has completely rejected these allegations and said that the election process is being conducted completely as per the rules.

The second phase of voting is going to be held on 142 seats in West Bengal on Wednesday (April 29), in which more than 1,448 candidates including Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee are in the fray. Meanwhile, Bhawanipur Assembly has become the hottest seat, because there is a direct contest on this seat between Mamata Banerjee and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. This time a close contest is being seen on this seat. A record 92.72 percent voting took place in the first phase of voting on 152 seats in the state, which is the highest turnout since independence.

Main points related to the second phase of voting in Bengal
The future of 1,448 candidates will be decided in the voting to be held today, which includes 1,228 men and 220 women.
The political temperature of West Bengal is increasing day by day. IPS Ajaypal Sharma had recently warned the TMC leader regarding intimidation in the elections. Since then TMC and BJP are face to face. Trinamool Congress has retaliated by making a long post regarding a post by BJP leader Ajay Alok.

TMC posted on X on Tuesday (April 28) and wrote, “After rape threats and derogatory cartoons, BJP has now come down to openly issuing death threats to Mamata Banerjee.”

He further wrote, “BJP’s national spokesperson has posted on his Twitter handle that Darayega to thokayega didi, which means if you try to scare us, you will be shot, didi. This is the BJP’s proposal to the three-time elected Chief Minister.”

BJP’s National Spokesperson @alok_ajay posted on his @MamataOfficial“, meaning, “If you try… pic.twitter.com/WsJ3e0jwyo

What did you say by tagging PM Modi and Amit Shah?
It was further said in the post that this is BJP’s dream of change for Bengal. They want to establish their shoot and hit culture developed on the streets of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in Bengal. After this, PM Modi and the Home Minister were tagged and it was written that this threatening environment has been approved from the top level due to the actions of PM Modi and Amit Shah themselves.

The post further said that if they talk about Didi like this, then one gets goosebumps thinking what havoc these saffron goons will wreak on the common mothers and daughters of Bengal. It was said in the post that Bengal will not forget these words. Bengal does not forgive. This insult will be answered with votes. Bengal will raise its voice on 4th May.

Campaigning for the second phase of West Bengal Assembly elections is going on in full swing. There was a rally of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Bhawanipur on Saturday (26 April). BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari’s meeting was being held barely 100 meters away from his rally venue. In such a situation, a situation of conflict arose between TMC and BJP workers.

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee alleged that BJP has organized a rally nearby only to create hindrance in her rally and apart from this, loudspeakers were also turned towards her stage. He alleged that BJP used its loudspeakers loudly to disrupt his speech. After this, she got upset and stopped her speech midway and apologized to the people present there and went away.

Police dispersed people

After the CM left, TMC workers moved towards Adhikari’s rally and started protesting. A scuffle broke out between TMC and BJP workers. However, the police deployed there dispersed the people. By that time Shubhendu Adhikari had not reached the public meeting. Later he said that goonda rule is going on in Bengal and a befitting reply has to be given.

Bhawanipur is the stronghold of TMC

While sharing the video, BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya said that Mamata Banerjee has lost her temper due to fear of defeat. Let us tell you that TMC is considered to have a strong hold on Bhawanipur seat. Mamata Banerjee has won this seat thrice since 2011. Voting is to be held on Bhawanipur seat along with other 141 seats on April 29.

Kolkata Police on Saturday appointed new station in-charges (OCs) for Kalighat and Alipore police stations. Both these police stations come under the famous Bhawanipur assembly constituency, where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is contesting from BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari. In the order issued by Police Commissioner Ajay Nand, it has been said that these transfers have been made in compliance with the instructions issued by the Chief Electoral Officer.
