Saayoni Ghosh Controversy: West Bengal’s famous politician and actress Sayani Ghosh is being discussed a lot these days. The reason for this is his rebellion against his own party Trinamool Congress (TMC). Sayani, who was once close and special to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, has now gone against her. Five years ago, because of his two words, he was even arrested and was on the verge of going to jail.
Sayani had created a ruckus in 2021
Sayani, who has appeared in many Bengali films, officially joined Trinamool Congress in the year 2021. Then in the Bengal Assembly elections, TMC had given her ticket from Asansol South seat, but she had lost. In the year 2021 itself, Sayani was embroiled in a big controversy.

According to a BBC report, in 2021, Sayani Ghosh had raised the slogan ‘Khela Hobe’ while passing by a BJP street meeting during the local elections in Tripura. This slogan was given by Mamata Banerjee during the elections. It was also said in the reports that the actress had also disrupted the meeting of then Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb. Police sources had informed that some people accompanying him had thrown stones at the people attending the meeting. Due to this, the matter took a big turn and Sayani had to suffer the consequences of it.

Police made arrest, case reached court
While registering a case against Sayani in a police station in Agartala, he was arrested by Tripura Police. The situation came to the point of Sayani going to jail. But, the actress was presented in the court just a few hours later. From where he was granted bail by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate. Talking about this matter, Sayani had told India Today, ‘When I was campaigning in Tripura, they did everything to stop us. But this is not the case in West Bengal, anyone can come and campaign here.
