Last Saturday (04 July) the second T20 was played between India and England, in which 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his debut. Vaibhav became the youngest player to debut for India. But in the same match, India’s young batsman Tilak Verma set a record for the youngest age, due to which veteran batsmen like Virat Kohli, Abhishek Sharma, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma lagged behind.
In fact, Tilak became the youngest batsman for India to touch the mark of 1500 T20 International runs. The thing to note is that Abhishek Sharma had made this record in his name in the first T20 which remained inconclusive due to rain. In the first match, Abhishek became the youngest batsman for India to complete 1500 T20 International runs at the youngest age (25 years 300 days).
Tilak got his name written on this record in the second match of the series. Tilak became the first player to complete 1500 T20 International runs for India at the age of 23 years and 238 days. Tilak did a great job by playing an innings of only 24 runs in the match.
