Trump’s popularity declined in America
According to new survey reports released by Economist/YouGov on Tuesday (July 28, 2026), only 34 percent of Americans consider the work of President Donald Trump right, while 62 percent of Americans are unhappy and dissatisfied with Trump’s work. However, this figure released on Tuesday is two percent more than last week.
At the same time, 63 percent of Americans believe that their country is moving in the wrong direction. Although there has been a decline in Trump’s popularity, politically the Democratic Party has not got much benefit from it. Democrats are only four percent ahead of the Republican Party in the generic congressional ballot.
What is Trump’s approval rating in the survey??
It is noteworthy that in the survey conducted by Economist/YouGov between 25 to 27 July among 1559 adults, Donald Trump’s approval rating was recorded at 34 percent, which is his lowest level till date in YouGov’s tracking after becoming the President for the second time. The margin of error in this survey is plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.

In an emailed statement to USA TODAY, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle rejected the survey data released on Tuesday (July 28, 2026). He said, ‘The most significant support had come on November 5, 2024, when about 8 crore Americans elected President Donald Trump with overwhelming support.’
He said, ‘The President has made historic progress not only in America, but throughout the world, and this is just the beginning. As his agenda gets implemented, more results will be seen.
