US Iran Peace Talks: US President Donald Trump has refused to extend the ongoing ceasefire with Iran, which has further increased regional tensions. Meanwhile, Pakistan seems to be active at the diplomatic level.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke on telephone with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday. During this, Dar stressed the importance of continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement amid the ongoing tension between America and Iran. He expressed the need to ensure regional peace and stability by resolving the pending issues quickly. Both the leaders agreed to maintain mutual contact.
Pakistan calls Iran’s foreign minister
According to Iranian media, issues like ceasefire, regional developments and further coordination were discussed in detail in this conversation. This development has come to light at a time when the two-week ceasefire between America and Iran is nearing its end and there is uncertainty regarding the second round of talks.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bagchi made it clear that it has not been decided yet whether Iran will participate in the next talks with America or not.

Australian Foreign Minister’s call
On the other hand, diplomatic activities have also intensified at the international level. Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong also spoke to Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and praised Pakistan’s “constructive role” in facilitating US-Iran talks. The situation remains very delicate. On the one hand, there is a danger of the ceasefire ending, while on the other hand, efforts are being made by various countries to reach a permanent solution through negotiations.
Pakistan praised China
Pakistan, which was playing the role of mediator in the Iran war, is now expressing confidence in China to take the peace process forward. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that China has appreciated Pakistan’s initiative in possible peace talks between America and Iran and efforts for regional stability.
According to the Foreign Ministry, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Zaidong said this during a meeting with Ishaq Dar in Islamabad. In this meeting, both sides discussed the latest situation in the area and the increasing tension. The statement also said that Ishaq Dar reiterated his commitment to the “evergreen” China-Pakistan strategic partnership and stressed on further strengthening bilateral relations.
Pakistan is now trying to bring China forward as an important diplomatic partner in this complex crisis, so that the path of dialogue between America and Iran can be reopened.
