The results of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission examination were released recently. During this period, many stories came out from across the state, one of them is that of Gayatri Verma of Bulandshahr. Gayatri’s father has a puncture making shop. But the daughter’s success has made the father proud.
Gayatri’s father Rajkumar Verma works at a small shop to fix tire punctures. Daily earning is not special. Under compulsion, he also started a small tea shop nearby, so that both the household expenses and his daughter’s education could be managed. There were many times when he had to borrow money on interest to pay Gayatri’s fees. But he did not lose courage. He had only one dream in his mind that his daughter would study and move ahead.

Gayatri studied till intermediate in Bulandshahr. She went to her maternal home in Aligarh for further studies. Staying there he completed his graduation. Due to financial constraints, coaching was not possible, so he prepared through online medium. Mobile and internet became his books. He distanced himself from social media and devoted his entire time to studies.

Learn from defeat, win in third attempt
Gayatri’s path was not easy. She could not even pass the preliminary examination in the first attempt. He was heartbroken, but his mother’s words made him stand again. She reached the main examination in the second attempt, but was not finally selected. Even after two failures he did not give up. Used full strength in the third attempt. Hard work paid off and success started kissing his feet with 210th rank.
Celebration at home, daughter’s aarti
The atmosphere at home changed as soon as the results came. Neighbors, relatives, friends all came to congratulate. The sound of drums started resonating. Gayatri was welcomed with a garland of flowers. The mother performed the aarti for her daughter. There were tears of pride in the father’s eyes.

Gayatri says that even if resources are less, the dream should not be small. With right direction, patience and hard work the destination is definitely achieved. He also told that proper use of time and distance from things that distract attention is very important. Her father says that my daughter should work honestly. Don’t do wrong yourself, don’t let anyone do it.
