Big news has come for the candidates preparing for jobs in various ministries and departments of the Central Government. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued a new recruitment notification for the year 2026, under which appointments will be made on a total of 194 posts of Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’. This recruitment process will be done in many departments including Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Department of Posts, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Archaeological Survey Department (ASI), Ministry of Defense, Ministry of MSME.

Important dates and process of application
The online application process has started from 23 May 2026 and candidates can apply till 6 pm on 12 June 2026. Applications will be accepted through online mode only. Candidates are advised to read the official notification carefully before applying, in which post wise qualification, experience, age limit and other important conditions are given.
Qualification and Selection Criteria
The educational qualification for this recruitment has been determined differently according to the post. Candidates must have B.Sc, B.Tech/BE, MA, M.Sc, ME/M.Tech, PG Diploma or equivalent degree. For some posts, experience in the relevant field has also been sought. The selection process may include shortlisting, interview and other selection stages.
Reservation and other information
Under the reservation policy in recruitment, separate seats have been earmarked for UR, EWS, OBC, SC and ST categories. Apart from this, horizontal reservation has also been implemented for PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates. The Commission has also clarified that the number of vacancies can be changed as per the service requirements.

It will be mandatory for the candidates applying for this recruitment to upload several important documents while filling the online application (CAF – Common Application Form). The Commission has given clear instructions that all the documents should be uploaded as per the prescribed format and quality, otherwise the application may be rejected.
These documents are mandatory during application
Candidates will have to capture live photo (from webcam/camera) during the application process, which is mandatory. Apart from this, recent passport size photograph and scanned signature (three signatures on the same page, in black pen) will have to be uploaded. For proof of date of birth, it is necessary to provide 10th class certificate or mark sheet. For educational qualification, degree or diploma certificate will have to be uploaded, and if the final degree is not available then mark sheets of all years will also be valid along with provisional certificate.
Experience, reservation and other certificates are also necessary
For posts for which experience is necessary, experience certificate issued by the head of the concerned organization will have to be submitted, which should include details of service period, salary and work. Reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) candidates will have to upload caste/community certificate in the prescribed format. Non-creamy layer certificate is mandatory for OBC candidates, while valid income certificate will have to be given for EWS category. PwBD category candidates will have to submit disability certificate issued by the Medical Board.
Take care of other important documents also
Ex-servicemen or government employees will have to produce the relevant certificate to avail the benefit of age relaxation. If a candidate has equivalent qualification, it will be mandatory for him to upload the order or letter issued by the competent authority. In case of name change, marriage certificate, divorce decree or affidavit will have to be given. Apart from this, it is also necessary to upload documentary proof for any other claim like professional registration, publication, GATE/NET etc.
