The eliminator match of IPL 2026 was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals on May 27 at the PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh. In this match, Rajasthan Royals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 47 runs and made their place in Qualifier 2. On May 29, Rajasthan Royals have to play a match against Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2. If Rajasthan Royals wins this match also, then they will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final match to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 31. Sunrisers Hyderabad is out of the race for the finals.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke years old record
In last night’s eliminator match, 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals did a great job. Till date even no informed batsman could do this. Vaibhav Suryavanshi completed 65 sixes in his IPL season by hitting 12 sixes in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chris Gayle, who had the record of hitting 59 sixes in one season of IPL, has now been broken.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has reached the top in the list of players who have hit the most sixes in a single season of IPL. Vaibhav Suryavanshi fell short of scoring just 3 runs in the eliminator match to equal another record of Chris Gayle. Actually, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has played an important role in taking Rajasthan Royals to Qualifier 2. Scoring 97 runs playing 29 balls is a big thing for a 15 year old boy.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi may not be able to match Chris Gayle who scored the fastest IPL century. But his innings gave a big boost to the Rajasthan Royals team. Along with Vaibhav Suryavanshi, his team also fully supported him in setting the big target of 244 runs. Be it batting or bowling, both proved effective.
