A major accident has occurred in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant where 8 people died due to leaking of molten steel. Many workers have also been injured in this accident. This accident was caused by the explosion of a ladle filled with molten steel at extreme temperatures. There was chaos after the accident and the employees started running here and there to save their lives. Steel plant employees have reached the spot and are trying to control the fire.
Instructions to speed up relief work
State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita reacted to the accident at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. He spoke to the District Collector and the City Police Commissioner on phone and took information related to the steel plant accident. According to the Home Minister’s PRO, he directed the officials to make arrangements for better treatment of the injured and to expedite rescue and relief operations at the accident site. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the Home Minister immediately reached the accident site and was continuously talking to the officials on phone and giving them many instructions.

PM Modi announced compensation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant accident and announced compensation. PMO posted on Twitter, ‘A compensation of Rs 2 lakh will be given from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each person who lost his life in this accident. Also, Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured.
Labor union reaction
Labor union leader N. Ayodhyaram said, ‘We suspect that the fire was caused by an explosion, but a thorough investigation is needed to find out the real reason. It is not yet clear whether those who lost their lives were contract laborers or permanent employees of the steel plant.
CM gave these instructions to the officers
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed grief and sorrow over this accident. He spoke directly on phone to the officials present at the incident site and expressed his condolences on the death of the people. The officials informed the Chief Minister about the current situation there and the ongoing relief work. The CM has directed all government departments to work together, so that the rescue and relief work can be completed quickly and properly.
