The firing incident came to light on the night of April 25 during America’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner program. President Donald Trump was also present in the program. Immediately after the firing, Secret Service personnel evacuated Trump safely from there. When this incident happened, Weijia Jiang was also present next to Trump, who was hosting the event as the president of the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA).
The sudden firing during dinner created panic and chaos in the entire ballroom. After leaving from there, Jiang took charge and instructed the crowd from the stage to remain calm and come out as per the security protocol. Even amidst the huge uproar, he did not lose his patience. His calm behavior and ability to work under pressure was greatly appreciated by his fellow journalists.

Immediately after being evacuated, Jiang returned to her role as a journalist and attended a White House press briefing.
