The ongoing dispute within Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress has reached the Election Commission. People from TMC rebel leader Ritabrata Banerjee’s group met the Election Commission on Thursday (July 2). Now, taking the matter seriously, the Election Commission has sent notices to both the groups. The Commission has sent a notice to Mamata Banerjee and Ritabrata Banerjee and has also sought a reply regarding this. The Election Commission has raised questions about the real TMC.

The Election Commission has written a letter to Mamta and Ritabrata group regarding the claims being made about TMC. Along with this, they have been asked to file their answers by 5:30 pm on Monday (July 6).

Rebel group met the Election Commission

The rebel group led by Ritabrata said that the full bench of the Election Commission listened to them patiently regarding its claim on the party. The rebel group expressed hope that the Commission will soon give an answer on this. Meanwhile, the Mamata Banerjee camp raised questions on the Commission’s decision to give time to the rebel group to meet and alleged that the meeting was a violation of the Commission’s own procedures.

Mamta faction questioned the Election Commission

The unrest in TMC started after the defeat in Bengal elections, which has not stopped till now. Mamta faction has raised the question after the leaders of the rebel group met the Election Commission. Mamta faction has said that the Election Commission has violated its own rules by taking this decision. Now it remains to be seen what decision the Election Commission takes regarding both the groups on July 6.
