Bankipur seat (Bankipur Seat) Asaduddin Owaisi in by-election from (Asaduddin Owaisi) ‘s party (AIMIM) can also contest. However the final decision will be taken by AIMIM (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has to be taken. After this, its formal announcement can be made on Thursday (July 09, 2026). After the statement from the party, the tension of other parties has increased.
Rana Ranjit, a leader associated with the party, has issued his statement on X. He said, “If the opposition had fielded a candidate together, BJP could have been defeated, but it did not happen. RJD has fielded its own candidate… Prashant Kishor is also contesting the elections.” Making a demand to State President Akhtarul Iman, he said, “If there is no unity in the opposition, then our party should also field candidates, this is what I want.”
Formal announcement may be made tomorrow
Party’s national spokesperson Adil Hasan told ABP News on Wednesday (July 08, 2026) that Rana Ranjit has expressed his views. He is a strong leader of the party, but we are still discussing this. There will be talks with party chief Asaduddin Owaisi today (Wednesday) evening. The decision will be taken after getting approval from their side. If there is approval from Asaduddin Owaisi, it will be announced in a press conference tomorrow (Thursday).

He said that the party has received biodata of many people for the by-election. Everything is also being considered. Only Asaduddin Owaisi’s decision is awaited.
Let us tell you that according to the caste equation, Bankipur assembly seat is considered a Kayast dominated area, but the Muslim population is also good here. According to statistics, there is about 10 percent Muslim population in Bankipur area. The number of Yadavs is at second number. If Owaisi’s party fields a candidate then it is certain that RJD’s votes will be divided.
