During the match between Mumbai and Chennai, CSK batting coach Michael Hussey had made it clear that Dhoni will return as a wicketkeeper batsman. Dhoni will not play only in the role of a batsman. Michael Hussey, while giving an update on Dhoni’s fitness, had said, “We hope that it can happen in the next few matches, but to be at his best he will have to be almost 100% fit.”
Hussey had further said, “He is progressing well. I know he is trying his best to return as soon as possible and the fans are desperate to see MS Dhoni back on the field.”

The thing to note is that no official update has been given by Chennai on Dhoni’s play in today’s match against Gujarat.
