The viral post featuring Sam Curran and Tom Curran read, “I can now confirm that former England cricketers Sam and Tom Curran have officially committed to play for Zimbabwe Cricket. Tom Curran is immediately available while Sam will have to wait a few months for his switch from England to be confirmed by the ICC.”

It was further written, “After Zimbabwe’s successful World Cup performance in India and Sri Lanka, top level talks have been going on for the last one month.”

So let us tell you that at present this claim is completely false, because no post or statement has been issued by both the players regarding this. It is also worth noting that both the players were not born in Zimbabwe, due to which both of them may not be immediately eligible to play international cricket for Zimbabwe.

If a person does not have Zimbabwean citizenship by birth, he must have completed at least four years of ordinary residence in Zimbabwe to be eligible for a contract with Zimbabwe Cricket.
