Free Services for Indians: We often think that basic services are the same everywhere. We assume that if something is free for us, then the same rule applies to other countries too. Whereas the truth is something else. You will be surprised to know that in India we use many such things for free, for which people in America pay huge prices. Let us know about this in some detail.
sending money is absolutely free
UPI or digital payments is completely free in India. You open the app, type the number and the transaction is completed by pressing send. There is no need to pay any fee for this. At the same time, if we compare it with America, there one has to pay fees for sending money or credit transactions through apps like Venmo or PayPal. Even in some cases, monthly maintenance charge is levied on the bank account also.
Indians are lucky
In India, you can go to the railway station, book tickets online by paying small fees, and even stream government services through the app without thinking about membership. Many mobile plans, free incoming calls, SMS and data packs come at prices that seem unrealistic in the US.
Let us tell you that mobile data prices in India are the lowest in the world. In America, people spend 50-80 dollars (about Rs 4000-6500) per month for a normal unlimited plan, whereas in India this work can be done easily for Rs 300-700.
Subscriptions like ‘Zomato Gold’ or ‘Swiggy One’ are very cheap in India. At the same time, in America ‘DoorDash’ or ‘UberEats’ charges huge fees for delivery. On top of that, heavy tips have to be given separately.
In India, it is cheaper to call a plumber, beautician and electrician at your home, whereas in America one has to pay a hefty ‘visiting fee’ for this.
