Before the assembly elections in Bihar, senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot played an important role in resolving the infighting within the Grand Alliance. Till the last moment it could not be decided who would contest on how many seats in the alliance.
At the same time, due to the separation of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the danger of breaking of the Grand Alliance had deepened. Meanwhile, Gehlot entered and took control of the situation after reaching Patna.
Who will be the face of the Deputy Chief Minister?
According to the information, Gehlot first met Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, then talked to Mukesh Sahni. After several rounds of meetings, the Grand Alliance held a joint press conference and declared Tejashwi Yadav as the chief ministerial face. But the biggest puzzle was who would be the face of the Deputy Chief Minister.
If Deputy Chief Minister is not made, we will separate from the alliance – Mukesh Sahni
According to sources, Mukesh Sahni was continuously pressurizing him to be declared the candidate for the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Whereas Tejashwi Yadav was not in favor of it. Tejashwi wanted that the entire election should be fought on his face so that in case of victory, he would get full credit. The differences on this issue had increased so much that Mukesh Sahni even said that if he was not made the face of the Deputy Chief Minister, he would walk away from the alliance.
Congress took charge of the Deputy Chief Minister dispute
The matter between Tejashwi Yadav and Mukesh Sahni got so bad that Congress had to intervene and take charge. Congress leader and former CM Ashok Gehlot reached Patna and made both the parties sit together and explain. According to sources, Gehlot explained to Tejashwi Yadav that first win the elections, form the government and you will become the Chief Minister. If the alliance itself breaks then the question of government will not arise.
After the mediation of Congress, it was decided that Sahani will become the Deputy Chief Minister.
After Gehlot’s mediation, Tejashwi Yadav agreed. After the consensus was reached, it was announced in the joint press conference that Mukesh Sahni would be presented as the face of the Deputy Chief Minister. It was also added that Deputy Chief Ministers can be made from other communities also so that dissatisfaction does not spread in any section.
In this way, due to Gehlot’s intervention, the grand alliance was saved from breaking and the direction of the election campaign could be decided. It is believed in political circles that Ashok Gehlot once again showed his political magic and made a deal that seemed impossible possible. This was the reason why Tejashwi Yadav could finally be declared the chief ministerial face of the Grand Alliance.
on the other side vip Sources say that Congress was not making its position clear. The matter was resolved after the intervention of Rahul Gandhi. Sahni defeated Rahul in front of Tejashwi and Gehlot. phoDidn’t do it and talked to Rahul and phoHe also got Gehlot talked to, after which the announcement was made.
