Zhong Shanshan founded his company Nongfu Spring in 1996. At that time, distilled water was prevalent in China. Zhong chose a new path. They launched water with natural minerals in the market. This move was bold and unique at that time, which made the company popular overnight. Today Nongfu Spring is China’s largest bottled water producer. It is counted among the leading beverage companies of the world. From 2012 to 2020, it maintained the top position in China’s packaged drinks sector.

According to Forbes report, Zhong Shanshan’s net worth is estimated at $76.2 billion. Apart from Nongfu Spring, he has also been the owner of pharmaceutical company Wantai Pharmacy Enterprise, which he left in 2021 due to personal reasons. The wealth of India’s Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani is 110 billion USD and 71.4 billion USD respectively.
